On a random note.... did anyone watch the HGTV dream home give-away tonight? The woman that won didn't seem happy about it at all.

I saw it and I thought the same thing! She was so dull and barely a thank you! I'm sure the producers were dying......an hour long buildup for an occasional tear wipe? The tone of her voice wasn't even exciting or gracious. I'm sure she was a bit shocked, but once you realized that it wasn't a gag of sorts wouldn't you be going nuts? I know I would!

The poor host, Lauren Lake, was trying to be SO excited and up beat....and thud.....nothing from the lady who won! Shame.....

OH well, enjoy your beautiful million dollar home in the keys lady.....

:snooty:

I watched for the first 40 minutes but was getting kind of bored with all the build-up and not really getting anywhere...so I just turned it off. Now I'm glad I didn't watch the rest -- at least you got to be excited about it if you win!!

Remember the HGTV Green Home contest starts soon!

It reminded me of a recent Saturday Night Live skit when Brian Williams was hosting. His character had just won the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes and couldn't even crack a smile about it... so the actress playing the hostess kept trying to get him to be excited..... it was so funny. She was like.... "well lets take a look at past winner" and of course it shows them all going nuts. The camera comes back to him and he is like "that is great" in a monotone voice. The skit ends with a delivery from Domino's Pizza and the delivery kid is like, "here is your pepperoni pizza and breadsticks". Brian Williams says, "I didn't order breadsticks" and the delivery kid says "they come free with your order", so he starts flipping out and getting all excited about the free breadsticks. So funny.

Okay, I've just spent the last 3 hours trying to get caught up on the new thread. I've missed so much fun and I'm still just on page 66. I hope to read more later today. Sorry I haven't been around for the last few weeks. We were gone last week with our spring break. We've also been dealing with some pretty icky personal things right now that have made it difficult for me to spend time/energy online.

I'm still following my favorite CMO candidates and I've loved getting to know you all more through this thread.

Justin, we may be moving to an area somewhat near you. We're hoping for a position for my husband at WVU in Morgantown. I've been scoping out the shopping in Pittsburgh and have been happy to see that some of my favorites are in that area (Ikea, Half Price Books, and Costco to name a few).

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still around and that I'm looking forward to lifting my spirits by soaking up the :wizard: from everyone.

Suz

Suz,

Definitely let me know if you are headed out this way! Morgantown is just about an hour south of where I live, but is a very easy drive on I-79. Does your husband currently work for IU? I'm just curious since your tag says you live in Bloomington - that is a beautiful area.

As for the shopping - yeah we've got most of the big ones. I love Ikea. As a kid I used to daydream about getting locked in there overnight and getting to explore. Weird, huh?

Keep me posted and i'll do whatever I can to help you get settled out here if you move!

Exactly! I remember that skit. Too funny! :rotfl2:

HMF - we so think alike! In fact as you were posting this, I was checking to see if I could find the clip to link to the post. So far, no luck!

When I have something exciting to say or do and DH is less then thrilled.... I act like the hostess and put my hands up and go "yaaaaaaaaaaaay" just like she did. And then he usually laughs and all is right with the world.

Yes, he's a professor at IU now, and we love it here. It is very beautiful and I'll be sad to leave . Jeff has a phone interview with WVU today. Looking at the map my calculations were that Morgantown is about an hour south of you as well. I LOVE Ikea too!! We just got a new one in Cincinnatti which is about 2.25 hours from here. How fun to be closer than that.

Thank you so much for the offer to help us get settled. We'd love to spend some time in Pittsburgh so I'll pick your brain about fun things to do there.

So has anyone heard from Kenny lately? I'm curious to see what the lastest stats and graphs have to say about the voting. He is full of the most fascinating information!

Do we have any college basketball fans on this thread? I know that is very unrelated to Disney, but I'm a big fan of March Madness, and my Pitt Panthers made a nice run over the weekend!

Hey Justin, been real busy lately. About to go away for spring break. I'll only be able to check in here and there. I can tell you there was a definite up tick in site visits after everyone's pleas on this site.

Love March Madness. The tourney is very exciting to see the David's upset the Goliaths for a round or two. I'm an Alabama fan, grew up in Birmingham, so nothing going on there this year in basketball.

I didn't know you were an A&M fan! That's great! I love the Aggies! (it's a throw back to the four impressionable years I lived in Texas as a young kid!)

And, yes, I have noticed! I was just giving you a hard time! ;)

We lived in Texas for 5 years. Gun Barrel City.

Wow! 'Looks like our Art Department was quite busy this weekend. ('Love the "deliverables," btw.)

FTC: Kenny is right. The green suits you! ;)

Cat: Wow! You're really rolling now... How many cat-o-tars have you made to date?

Disneyfalcon: Excellent avatar! 'Love it! :thumbsup2

Andimator: Welcome back! :wave2: (And, sorry about the flu! I'm hoping that the arrival of Spring signals the end of the "ick," because my family has definitely had its fair share of illness this season...)

I hope everyone had a fun -- and restful -- weekend!

Popping back in to say hello and good luck to everyone on these last few days of voting! I am crossing my fingers for all of you and am so sad that we will only get to see three of you ham it up in WDW!

Beloved Michael, Tripp and Andy- excellent videos! And I am loving all of Cattotiggers Cat-o-tars! Everyone in here is so talented, what a great group. Now I guess I should put in a few votes for my favorites today :thumbsup2

Okay, family. I know you are all enablers, so I'll ask for your help!

I can fly round trip from my little town in Texas to Orlando for $119 plus taxes total! That's right - that's the price for round trip!

The only time I can fly this price is if I go April 8 - April 15, which is a full week. And of course, I'd have to go alone, but I've done that before.

At this point, the best I can get a Disney hotel is All Star Movies for $114/night.

What say the group? That's more than I've ever paid for a value resort, so I think it wipes out any airline savings. But I'm kinda pumped to go...

What would you do?

You can stay at the All-Star Sports for between $99 and $109.

Of course, you could always stay off property.

Wow - that wasn't there a little while ago! Thanks!

And...I don't do off property...at least while I'm by myself! :)

Edit - ooh that sounded snippy! Sorry FTC - that came out wrong. I just like staying on property so much better, I don't even think about off anymore!

Don't talk to me about the NCAA Tournament today. My Sun Devils were totally given a raw deal this week.
