I'm here, too, although some people near me were making so much noise I couldn't hear some of what was going on.

Thanks to all the top tenners who joined in the DISbate!

David (and Vickie), I'm so glad you came, thank you! I really liked hearing your thoughts and your perspective on all of this! :thumbsup2

Yes! :thumbsup2

Thanks to those in the Top 10 who agreed to participate in tonight's DISbate and allowed us to get to know them a little better! :goodvibes

I’d pull out a calculator (my math skills are a little rusty!), figure out how many people I could get into the parks for a day, and then select a lucky family to join me.

We’d jump in a Disney bus, head out to the Orlando (or Anaheim!) area, and find as many people as we were allowed to take with us. We’d grab folks from the fry machines at McDonalds, people washing dishes in restaurants, people working with children and senior citizens, and anyone else who seemed like they really needed and deserved a special, magical, Disney surprise. :woohoo:

Through this, we get to grant dozens of wishes to people who are most unsuspecting, and a family gets to participate in the magic of sharing Disney with others. Again, feels like everyone wins to me! :thumbsup2

Justin, this is BEAUTIFUL!! You gave me chills:love: Seriously, much love to you for this answer. I would TOTALLY do this!!

For anyone still here, TOP 10 that is, are any of you thinking this is bigger than what you expected? Kindof an "ut oh, what did I get myself into and look at the competition, I am out of my league?"

Are you overwhelmed with the prospect of actually making it to Top 3 or even being the ONE?

I agree! I have favorite answers from everyone, but this was my favorite of the night!

I hope that many of you will stick around and discuss the contest more. As for me, I'm sick and tired...

Wait! I'm not being negative. I mean that I am literally sick and literally tired and I have to be to work early in the morning.

I'll read through everything tomorrow and start casting those 100 votes. I sincerely appreciate the candidates showing up. I have a feeling that you all scored major points and everyone feels as though they know you much better now.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say "don't be a stranger." While we recognize that this forum is not the be-all-end-all of CMO discussion, we do have more than 10 times the posts of any other discussion forum I've seen. There is a real passion for this contest here, among Top 10ers, Top20ers, entrants who tied for 21st and some who didn't even enter. We'd love to see you come back and I'm certain that your vote tallies will be improved as a result.

(You'll also find that this is a great place to have some fun!)

Thanks to all of you DISers, candidates, lurkers and others.

Goodnight everybody!

{offstage} (CRASH...THOOP) Oh bother...

FLEAGLE: Sigh.... Stage Manager to Dressing Room Six! Bring the WP-40.

I want to be on Justin's bus!!!

JUSTIN'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

You say in your bio: "I constantly dream up new events, experiences, or even moments when the people I encounter can join together and share in a memorable, life-changing adventure."

What new events and experiences have you dreamed up since learning that you are in the Top 10?

Dreaming and creating memorable experiences is something I try to do every day. Not specifically related to this contest, I’ve been a part of a team that decided to host a movie night for some of our elementary and middle school students where we watch and discuss “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe” while their parents are experience a more somber side of the Easter story. I’ve also worked on writing a short play for our church’s children’s ministry in which kids will have a chance to interact with teenagers, adults, and seniors in a collaborative environment that brings them all closer together.

Every day I’m in meetings or rehearsals with people where a well timed joke, a friendly smile, or a thoughtful ‘thank you’ note can help people to realize that we really are all in this together (High School Musical pun not intended, but hey, I’ll take it!).

Somewhat more related to this contest, I’ve had a lot of fun dreaming up ways to get a huge number of people involved in the voting process. From nearly-daily email newsletters, to business cards that have been handed out to everyone imaginable (people working drive-thru lanes at fast-food restaurants seem to particularly enjoy the personal interaction), to an appearance at my local Disney Store, to popping in to an elementary school that my friends’ kids attend to visit with the secretaries and teachers, sharing the joy and magic of this contest with so many people has really made it an unforgettable experience.

Now, in the daydream department (as in things I’ve dreamed but have yet to put into action) . . . that is a mighty long list! I’d love to host Disney themed events throughout my local Pennsylvania community to bring some of the magic up north. (In fairness to both sponsors – I’ll host CareerBuilder.com events too, but you may have to provide the souvenirs!). I’d love to learn more about an idea floated out there by Fleagle (Eric Kidwell) called the “Community Magic Organization” and see if we can all do more to create magic in our daily lives. I’ve dreamed of greeting smiling kids, granting wishes, taking someone on their first ride on Splash Mountain, and watching Wishes in the Magic Kingdom with a family from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. . . .

Really, with me, the dreaming never stops . . .

Yes! :thumbsup2

Thanks to those in the Top 10 who agreed to participate in tonight's DISbate and allowed us to get to know them a little better! :goodvibes

Thank YOU all for being here and inviting us here--I know I'm a newbie, and I'm happy that you want to get to know all of us. It's been really wonderful getting insights into all of you beautiful people over the last few weeks.

For anyone still here, TOP 10 that is, are any of you thinking this is bigger than what you expected? Kindof a "ut oh, what did I get myself into and look at the competition, I am out of my league?"

Are you overwhelmed with the prospect of actually making it to Top 3 or even being the ONE?

Good question Ann! I hope you'll get some answers.

Once again Fleagle, you outdid yourself! Thank you! :thumbsup2

Edited to thank Mrs. Fleagle too--after all, what would we do without Pooh Bear! Thank you for saving him!

KARRIE'S INDIVIDUAL QUESTION:

Regarding music, you mentioned here on the DISboards “although the contest rules prohibit music...that's for copyright and royalty issues...not some goofball like me who's singing acapella!” Did you feel that you were taking a chance by singing? Given that the rules state: "Any Online Entry submitted with music will be disqualified,” did you expect that your video might, in fact, be disqualified?

I never felt I was taking a chance by singing. To be honest, it never even crossed my mind (which is a good thing because then I definitely would NOT have done it)! :) I suppose it's because I've been on the other end of these types of contests so many times (I work in the field of marketing) and I've had to work closely with corporate legal departments on these very issues. I worked for a telecommunications company that was running a spot with a Beatle's song and I definitely got a crash course in copyrights, royalites and disclaimers. What magical fun! :goodvibes I knew the only risks with me singing would be (1) me filing a lawsuit against myself - which I really hope doesn't happen and (2) me singing when I was just getting over the flu. The first time I heard about the contest, I instantly envisioned Zip A Dee Doo Dah and an animated bluebird. The big problem with that was that I had never worked with any type of animation EVER! So, I downloaded an animation software and had a ton of fun learning to work with it. I actually downloaded the software less than 48 hours before I submitted the final video...it was actually much easier than I expected (with that said, I know the truly "professional" stuff takes years of schooling and TONS of talent). I was mentioning to Ricky on ITM that although my children used to think it was so cool to see themselves on video...now they're like, "MOM! Where are the characters?" So, no matter what happens with the contest...I've learned a fun new skill and made a ton of fun new friends along the way!

I hope that many of you will stick around and discuss the contest more. As for me, I'm sick and tired...

I hope the you and Mrs. Fleagle feel much better soon!! Sending good vibes your way....

Thank you again for the evening--especially when you're sick!!

Justin--we need to find a way to reciprocate...we'll chat soon...

And can I just say...

That's got to be the best pirate I've ever seen! Does he plan it that way, or make it up as he goes along? He managed (quite successfully) to include himself in almost every question/answer! Amazing! pirate:

Final thought for now (my wife needs the computer eventually!):

Thank you SO much for another fun evening! This was a really enjoyable event and I loved the opportunity to get to know the other finalists. What an amazing bunch of people we have here!

I will get back on soon and answer Ann's question and post some other thoughts, responses, etc. You know I can't stay away from this community!

But for now, my wife's lesson plans must take priority!

See you all again soon and THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Question #5: While waiting for the parade to begin, you see a family where the father is bored, the mother is busy trying to keep her children in the basic area, the 3 year boy is running in circles yelling and the 9 year old girl is saying she is tired. You have one "award" to give -- who do you pick and why?

What would a family therapist do? Oh, that’s right, I am one of those. I would award the mother with an outside table at the Plaza Inn (DL) and treat her and her invited guests (her family) with beverages and a snack. From the Plaza Inn they could still see the parade, get a rest, and be rewarded with refreshment. I would pick the mother because “Nobody’s happy if mom’s not happy.” Hee hee, I just made that up!

WELL SAID!!! :rotfl:

Thanks to the Fleagles for hosting and taking care of hospitality for the visiting celebrities.
I would like to see Winnie-the-Pooh's green room contract!
It was a great show, with more fun to come. I appreciate the spirit of all the candidates and
love being in company with others who are goofy for Disney.
And I can't wait until HMF weighs in on the evening's events.

All Top 10ers, thank you for coming and sharing! Great job! Look forward to hearing more and seeing where all this leads! :goodvibes
