Alright, it's back to work for me! Happy voting! I can't wait to get back on here (late again) tonight to see if anyone has bested Marshay's 11 votes in 60 seconds OR figured out the hidden meaning in the cryptic messages Kenny posts about his 30+ votes per minute!

Let me know how you do!

(oh, and feel free to challenge anyone who hasn't been on here this afternoon to a contest. Why not get in on the competitive fun??) ;)

Nothing cryptic about it. Just got 38 in one minute. Really depends on the speed of the site. I'm using the timer on the site btw.

Kenny, that is REALLY fast code typing -- 5 characters in a code

5 * 38 = 190 characters per minute plus 38 enter and 38 backspace or whatever it is you do to reset it so quickly.

Sadly, when I type a number I have to look at the top of the keyboard .... you just type really fast!

Code? Is that the pirate's way? Isn't the code really more like guidelines!

I have never used the x y and z (not to mention q) keys so much. :rotfl:
Thanks for the shortcuts, I have improved my speed by about 20% now that I don't have to mess with that mouse, which means more votes, and I ain't lion... :simba:

10 minutes that I didn't vote at all...319 votes were cast
10 minutes that I voted 794 votes were cast. I voted 360 of those times.

Follow up 5 minutes I didn't vote...68 votes were cast.
5 minutes I voted 195 times out of 256 votes cast.

I guess I ran everyone off, sorry :-(

Here's the hit stats from compete, small incline yesterday. 2% up

Someone interviewed David this morning from our local "free" weekly paper and asked for a picture. They were responding to the press release that was sent out yesterday. We'd forgotten about that particular newspaper and had been concentrating on our local "Daily". It comes out Saturday and has an online edition. Will send the link when (if) we see the article.

Thanks for this stat chart, Kenny. David inserted it in his "Daily Reminder" yesterday and had good response. People really liked seeing the numbers.

I'm wondering though, if that's hits to the "Home Page" only and not the individual candidate pages. That would explain why there were so many more "hits" in the beginning since most people now are going directly to their choice. Maybe we'll see an increase now that we're all reopening the main page to see the count go up.

In the "Daily Reminders" we've been sending out, David asked people to send us any Disney stories they might want to share.

One friend sent us this:

"Do you remember my telling you about the 5 year old little girl I met at the sink, washing her hands at Disneyland? I saw her new Daisy Duck ring, and said, " what a lovely ring. Is it new?" She looked up at me, her eyes got wide, she smiled a big smile, and said with great awe, "She's here!!!!!" I spent the rest of the day smiling. That's the magic of Disney."

Now I'm smiling, I hope you are.

Code? Is that the pirate's way? Isn't the code really more like guidelines!

I knew that might be the ticket. I've been trying to find a way around the code, myself.

An idea I haven't tried is to open multiple browsers with the voting page and run through them that way. It would save time going from the 'Thanks for Voting' page and the code entry page.

*Edited to add - I finally looked into the captcha issue (the code thingy) and discovered that finding a way around it would likely be a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act if not a violation of contest rules. I don't suggest anyone try this.

If I told ye, I'd have to...
I'm not going to publicly reveal who I support. With the whole "vote for loot" promotion, I think that might be detrimental.

I am actually considering making available to someone the way to vote 30+ times per minute though. Bids anyone?

I'm not terribly sure what that would do except confuse me greatly!

Well, I do have a bit more free time on my hands to vote since I thought Haunted was moving in here......but since he is with the Fleagles now.....:confused3 just sayin'
Who knew I would be such a popular orphan? Can I split my time? I'm like Orphan Annie, minus the weird "no pupil" eyes.

Where do you come up with this stuff? Seriously funny guy, HMF. Seriously funny (if that's not an oxymoron!)

Try BACKSPACE. It works in Firefox on a PC... your mileage may vary.

To clarify: When I backspace -- after I've already received the "thank you" for my vote -- I'm asked to enter the exact same code again. (Then, I receive a second "thank you" message.) Are both votes being counted separately?

I love the idea of a short-cut, I just want to ensure that my votes will count more than once when I implement it. :confused3

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Aaaahhh, but if you ever requested one of those cheesy cat-o-tars, you might just end up with weird "no pupil" eyes!

That catotigger draws funny!

Signed, NOT catotigger

If you get a Thank you, you got a vote.
