CMA's last night...a question...

Was Shania Twain lip syncing?!?! Sounded like Billy Currington was actually singing...but she sounded very...um...exactly like the song on the radio.

And was Kenny Chesney nervous last night? Or did all the guys just not practice "Hey Good Lookin'" before the show? heheh

Great show last night...I just feel bad that they cut Kenny off at the end...

I wondered that too...you would think after a past awards show when she lip syncd to "Up" and was outed, she'd know better! Would love to know for sure! I thought Toby and his daughter were great! Gotta go buy that CD now!

I was thinking the same thing about Shania. She was lip syncing.

Contrast that to Alan Jackson. The sound crew messed up the mixing, and his mic wasn't set up right or something. I could barely hear Patty.

I get tired of Brooks and Dunn winning all the time, but they blew the roof off with their performance last night.

Overall a good show, especially at the beginning.

oh yeah - she lip synched at the Super Bowl (um - last year? 2 years ago? I forget...) It just made her look horrible because Gwen Stefani (from No Doubt) came out singing (for real) and dancing around like she usually does...and put on a GREAT performance.

I just found it really odd that someone would do something like that...she must be a horrible live singer...

I never even KNEW Toby had a daughter, she's goregeous and had a GREAT voice!

rascal flatts... did so well last night...love that song! (heck, I love the whole CD!)

LOL! DD and I were talking about the same thing last night...she spent the entire show trying to figure out who was lip syncing and who wasn't. Shania was definitely obvious and she did the same thing while singing on GMA this past Friday! Usually have to walk out of the room when she comes on the television! We decided that Shania was the only one who was lip syncing though.

Felt the same as you about Kenny....loved the part in his speech where he said, "I've waited 12 years for this award, you're not gonna cut me short". DD is in LOVE with him.

Now, I for one, am celebrating Keith Urban's big win!!! Oooo-La-La!!!

you know, I heard on the radio that many people are upset about Keith winning this...that there were other more deserving in the category (Toby K/Alan J)

but he look 100% dumbstruck and completly awstruck by the situation. brought a tear to my eye too.

although - I've seen better live performances from him...he was awesome at Fan Fair...not so much last night.

Shania was definitely not singing live.

Faith Hill is too skinny.

I loved Sara Evans and Martina McBride's performances. Don't you think the staging was a bit over the top? Most of these people have such amazing talent, why overshadow it by staging that looks like it belongs in a music video?

Ronnie Dunn needs to put down his collar. The 80's were over almost 15 years ago, and he also needs to stay away from the plastic surgeon.

Someone on the radio this morning said Dolly Parton looked like a white rooster. I think she looks great!

Who won the horizon award? My DD came downstairs right before that and I fell asleep cuddling her.

All that aside, the show was great. I am always amazed at how many talented performances there are at that show.

Sorry, but Brooks and Dunn were not good hosts. Also, how TACKY and RUDE was it to cut off the Entertainer of the Year!!! They let songwriters talk longer then Kenny. I thought that was just horrid. Next time tell Dolly we are running behind to cut the babble. (Of course earlier one performer claimed he was being told to strech, have the producers never heard of pacing)

Sound was horrid all the way around. Maybe NY will have a better sound set up.

Yea for Kenny Chesney! I wish they would have had Gretchen Wilson open the show with "I'm here for the party", atleast I get to see her and Big and Rich in concert Friday night.

I only saw parts of the show, but one thing struck me...In the intro to the show, when the announcer was listing all the artists who would be taking part in the show, why was Shania Twain highlighted above everyone else...for example..."Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith...and SPECIAL GUEST, SHANIA TWAIN!" Why is she given the royal treatment above all of these other performers who, frankly, can out-sing her any day? I used to like Shania, but it seems to me that her success has gone to her head. IMO, Martina McBride, Sara Evans and Gretchen Wilson, among others, have far more talent than Shania.

And Toby's daughter, Crystal - wow - she obviously inherited her Dad's talent - what a set of pipes on her!

Brooks & Dunn aren't responsible for cutting off Kenny Chesney. It was horrible that it happened, I think Dolly went on way too long.

Shania was a co-host correct? I would guess that's why she got such a big intro?

Can Gretchen Wilson do something with her hair? It's an awards show for crying out loud, put some effort into looking good!

Tami - Shania was a presenter and "sang" one song. I don't even remember seeing her in the audience. I can't think of any reason why she should have been held above everyone else.

And yes, Gretchen needs a new stylist. I also think she should have chosen a different outfit for her performance. He song was classic and beautiful, and she dressed like she was singing 'Redneck Woman."

I am sure critical of everyone today. What's up with that?

I know this is terribly tacky but I rolled lastnight when Brooks&Dunn won their award lastnight and one of them, I don't remeber which, said "I got your horse right here." I guess they aren't big fans of Big&Rich. I personally had to just change the chanel during that show and had my mama calling to ask who the "heck" that was? She also wanted to know why they had a "little person" doing nothing on stage. I had no answer for that one.

LOVE Gretchen's new song. Thought Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss were wonderful. Forgot to add that yes I think Shania was obvious lip-synching.

lovemygoofy - I thought Brooks & Dunn's comment was directed toward the presenters (I think it was Lonestar) who were commenting on which nominee, a.k.a. horse, they had their money on to win Duo of the year. I didn't think the comment was directed toward Big and Rich - maybe it had double meaning.

I thought Montgommery Gentry should have won.

Big and Rich's performance was not appropriate at all. The shirtless drummer and the guy taking his shirt off at the end, The little person doing nothing, didn't seem like the image country music wants to put forth for the world to see.
