Does anyone do a CM thank you.. like that website someone posted before has little cards already made up and just attached it to gum or candy etc... has anyone here done that?

Does your child bring anything special to the characters?

My little girl brings a fork to Ariel.. and Ariel just goes nuts over a dinglehopper! Its so cute!

any other ideas?

or do you all think I am crazy!

She has also taken roses to the princesses, cheese to Mickey etc etc etc

That is too cute, a fork to Ariel! :rotfl2: I have never heard of anyone doing that but how cute!

I was planning to bring a photo of our dog for the kids to give/show Mickey. Our dog is white with black spots and one spot on his backside is shaped just like a Mickey!

Cute about the fork!!! :)

As for a CM thank you, not sure what you are asking.. Do you mean bringing like a little thank you card? We just got back, and we stayed at CBR. My youngest daughter really took to a CM in our resort gift shop (they had the same name), after she went out of her way to help her with her pin trading. Then, the very next day (on her day off), we saw her in Animal Kingdom. Not only did she recogize my daughter, but took time to stop and chat with her, and also traded pins with her off her private lanyard. We ran into her later on, as we were leaving the park, and once again, she acknowledged my daughter and talked to her. I felt this went above and beyond! We made a point to go back to the gift shop and talk to the manager, praising this CM! She deserved it. My daughter also wrote a letter about it and turned it in. I think that the good CM's deserve some pixie dust as well :) Afterall, it is they who can make your trip more enjoyable!

A letter goes a long way. For a guest to take the time to write a letter, find the correct mailing address, and manager name and then to mail the letter to WDW gets heaps of praise for the cast member. Out of all the different forms of Thank You that a guest can do, I would say that a personal letter is the best. Of course, if you can give the name of the CM, their work location and a brief story about how they made your day/visit extra special will be the greatest thing that you can do.

We are leaving on Sat for our second holiday visit to WDW. When we were there in 04 we were very grateful to all the CM for giving up their holiday to help make our's magical. This year we have already made up Disney Thank Yous that say "Thank You for helping to make our Holidays magical" We have included a small gift certificate to a national chain, Dunkin donuts, Pizza Hut etc. and we plan on giving these out to cast members on Christmas.

Wow, Becky, that's so nice of you!

I was given a candy cane a few weeks ago and it made my day cause it was my lunch! :)

We did packs of gum last time with a thank you for making our trip so magical attached.. it was very cute with Tinkerbell on it.. this time we have some gum but also little disney candy canes we just got at TRU .. it was 3.00 for a box of 52. Great buy! We are going to give the candy canes out at the party!

We made and laminated the little Christmas-themed Thank You cards (from that "other" site!) and we also made goodie bags to give out on Christmas Day to the resort workers, restaurant servers, etc. :teeth:

It is best for the CM if you write a letter to their managers/Disney....it goes on their records, and they may even get an article in the company newsletter....my dd works for Dis, and a wonderful family wrote a beautiful note about her, she got a commendation, an article in the company newsletter...it goes a long way! You can also, as OP's stated give the CM a ty card while you are there, in order for the right CM to get the praise, you just have to remember the CM's name, place where they were, and date and time of your encounter with them.....there are many different shifts at Disney

We carry around TY cards that I designed and printed to hand to the CM's, but also a pad and pen/pencil to write down the name, time and place of occurrence!

Absolutely true, Wendy. While the sentiments are appreciated, nothing goes further than telling a member of management or Guest Relations about a pleasant experience you had with a CM. It does indeed go on record cards which helps that individual with promotions, raises, and area recognition. There's nothing like having your name in the company-wide newsletter!

I will make sure to take note of special cms! Thanks for the tip!! Cm do so much to make our trip so special!

We had a very special CM at an attraction- the Haunted Mansion. How do you find the right person to send a letter to at the Haunted Mansion? I'm sure there is someone in charge there. A head Butler or something :teeth:
Anyway, it was great and I would like to recognize this person.

On our last trip we meet a wonderful CM who took the time to really converse with my DS. Are CM's allowed to except a small gift while working?

Happy Holidays!

If you've already gotten home and want to send in sentiments about a CM, simply use Disney's e-mail feature online or send them a letter.

VERY easy to get comments to WDW, and when they're positives, they're THRILLED to receive them. You can send them via regular mail or via email at the following addresses:

Glad to hear that you Enjoyed the Magic! & GREAT that you want to recognise CMs who did an exceptional job (we did that for 4 separate CMs during our trip in October).

While entering MK on our last day at Disney, my husband went over to a CM and thanked him. Thanked him for the most magical trip of his life, for exceeding his very high expectations, for putting an extra bit of Pixie Dust on the entire family and for a world of cherished memories. This CM called over a pair of members of the Dream Squad (not the ones with the vests and bags of goodies, but the others), and my husband thanked them for the concept of YOAMD. That it is simply wonderful. Brilliant. That it added an extra sense of "good timing" for our highly anticipated trip. Those CMs called over the gentleman who is the head of YOAMD. My husband spent about 10 minutes gushing over WDW and the personal meaning of his trip - with many thank yous and true, heartfelt appreciation. By the time the conversation had ended my husband felt like he was on cloud 9, and we received a pair of Pixie Dust pins, a stack of fast passes and a slew of handshakes thanking US for taking the time to thank the CMs.
