Cm tells me it's impossible to get a discount now...

Sorry for this ultimate newbie question but........
Is there a chance that there will be discount codes that might be applied for an existing reservation in Jan 2005? If so, when might they come out? I have a reservation for the Wilderness Lodge at the "rack rate" of $199/night.
Thanks!

I know that Thanksgiving is supposed to be a blackout date, but I called this morning and got 2 rooms at CSR for $79 each (AP rate) checking in on 11/25. There was no availability for the Values at $49. I think I'll keep trying for a value resort since this was a spur of the moment trip (got cheap air fare) and that would save over $300. We don't spend much time in our rooms anyway.

Keep trying.

Check www.mousesavers.com every day, starting...what, guys, about two months before?...FIRST THING IN THE MORNING to see what codes have been released. They go FAST, so you have to call in the morning. I was out that day and missed it till about 3 p.m., which is probably why I'm struggling now.

Of course, if I'd got it that day, we'd probably still have ressies at the FW campgrounds in one of the cabins, so it's all worked out nicely. That would have been fun, but now I'm very, very gung ho on my ALK ressies for 2 nights, and even cheerful about POR.

Good luck! I'm calling in a little under an hour again...

The only reason I check the website is that is quicker for me than calling. If it shows available for what you want, call immediately to try and apply the code.

Well, I have my rooms booked at both resorts already, and discounted rate at POR, I'm just trying to apply the discounted rate to my ALK rooms. I don't understand how checking the website can help me with that; am I being dense?

Kris,

If you go to the Disney website, on the left hand side of the screen for WDW tickets and reservations is an area where you can click on for 2004 packages, 2005 packages, and special offers. If you click on "special offers", it will take you to a screen that has each of their current "public offers". If you click on the offer you want to check, you will get a reservation screen where you can get a quote for your dates and accomodations. When it gives you a quote, the detail will state that a particular offer has been applied (by description rather than code).

At the original reservation screen, there are also links on the top right hand side for Florida residents and annual passholders to log-in. I can only assume that, if you log-in on those screens, you will eventually get on to a page where you can get a quote that applies the Fl. res or AP discounts.

This won't allow you to apply the discount to your current reservation, but it will at least give you a sense of availability. And, if something shows as being available, the choices are (i) to book on-line and later cancel the overlapping portion of your existing ressies (at the rack rate) or (ii) call CRO and try to get the discount applied to your existing ressies in light of the fact that the computer indicates that there is availability for your dates.

OK - Calling back definately works. My mom has decided to come to Disney when I will be there with friends. She called yesterday to get an AP or BAT code and was told that there were only suites left at the deluxe and no other rooms at any of the moderates or value at any discount rate. She was bummed!

I called this morning at 10 am to try to get her a room. (Us Disers are very persistent) I'm at POFQ from 10/14 - 10/17 and then onto the BCV. I tried to get her into POFQ to be with me. The CM found POR for the AP rate of $84/night. WOW!!! How exciting! So I called my mom to tell her about my exciting find. She was indeed very excited.

The interesting thing was that she called at 9 am this morning (which I didn't know) and couldn't get any rooms again. But yet I got her a room an hour later. It's very interesting, but KEEP TRYING!!!! Eventually you will get something.

Good morning! I just tried calling regarding my ressies for 10-9 and 10-10. I was told their computer system is down. Call back in about two hours!

We have ressies for 10-9 through 10-15 at ALK CL. However the 9th and 10th are on rack rate. I just keep repeating- I will get a discount I will get a discount I will get a discount! ::yes::

Storybookmum: Have you found anything yet? Have you tried to see if they have any discounts for Canada residents?

Hope every one has a great day!

Yesterday it finally showed up on the website (and this is over one of their blackout periods) so I contacted my TA and asked them to check to see if it was available at the ap rate as well. Yay it was!!!!
Just keep trying the website, I think that is a good indication as to what might be available for ap rate as well and it is quicker than calling.
good luck!

Can anyone tell me where this "Website" is? I'm not sure where or how I'm suppose to look for these codes. Thanks

PirateFan - the POP is GREAT and I'd stay there again even tho I love the deluxe and moderates too!!!

Just Ran into your CM

I just got off the phone. Must have gotten your same CM  She informed me that it was a waste of my time to keep calling. The code I was "first" using was a e-mail pin code. She stated that if someone would call to cancel with that code the room and discount would go to rack rate. I ignored her and continued giving her other codes BAT, BAP, BAS and finally AAA. Yep.....nothing was available. Now isn't that a surprise!

Last night I was told by CM to keep calling. Rather upsetting!

I must have gotten the same CM this morning. When I told her I had a ressie, but wanted to try and get a different view, she said, "If you couldn't get it when you originally booked then you won't get it now"! I told her that many other CMs have told me "Keep trying back", and she said, "Well, they're wrong". I have been going to Disney World for a long time and talked with 100's of CMs, but have never encountered one with an attitude like this one had. I just said, "I'll just call back and speak to someone who has the Disney spirit" and I hung up. I WILL keep trying...... ::yes::

SHHHH! I'm NOT a Canadian to Disney, I'm a Florida Resident! I can't possibly have a FL res discount code at POR and a Canadian resident code at AKL, their heads would explode!

(I live here in Ontario and our family has a condo in Fort Myers...overall, it pays better to be a FL resident when chatting with Disney....)

So, great idea, but shhhhh!

:teeth:

Got it! (the explanation, not the discount, yet!) Thank you, I will add that to my favourites and check that way, it's easier!
