So I took the plunge and purchased CM SBC 4.0 yesterday since it is on sale to do a little dabbling in digital. I am still a paper girl for 98% of my albums, but I would like to make kiddo's photobooks of their own of our trips to Disney. I have dial up internet so I was getting frustrated with shutterfly even though they have some very nice photobook options now.

So anyone have recommendations on where to begin and where to get disney embellishments? Or any good tutorials on how to use it? I am normally pretty good at figuring software out but not so much here.

I know people upload to shutterfly to print books how do I do that? Do you make pages and then uploaded them or do you create a book and upload it that way?

I have read through some of the big long thread but I didn't know if some of that is dated since they are on verison 4 now.

Any help that you can give me would be wonderful!

I have no idea but I keep thinking about getting into ditial (kinda think someone people hope I don't)

my best idea is to check you-tube - I like seeing it happen so I know what they mean by click on this thingy

I have an older version of that software. Its pretty easy to use and I just made my first digital page last weekend :cool1:

I google for free digital embellishments, i have found some great stuff disney type and other wise. I have also seen a few kits for purchase that are a good price $2-4, and since its digital you can use it again and again. :)

To save it as a jpg so that you can import it into another program to print you will need to the Disk Icon that says Save,
click the Save as,
on the pop up screen, Under Output Type, Choose File Type on the pop up screen JPG file. and then save as.

If you are doing only one page, click the box for that under Page Range, other wise it will save the blank pages too. For best results when getting them printed make sure that your resolution is set at 300 dpi

Then when you are ready to upload to shutterfly etc, you can just upload your jpg picture.

Clear as mud right? :rotfl:

Hope that helps!

Thank you it does help a lot! I just need to figure out why every time I try to Import pictures from Memory Manager into SBC it says SBC is not installed even though its right there opened on my computer. I have tried it without it being open and it still says the same thing.

Anyone else that has any tips or advice on the program it would be greatly appreciated!

Did you put in your activation code? Just trying to think of possible things... I have the 3.0 version and I have made a few small books as gifts as I'm a traditional scrapper at heart...but I want to be able to make smaller events into digital books....

Yup I put my activation code in so I am not sure why memory manager isn't recognizing it. I won't be using this all of the time as I am a traditional scrapper at heart too :)

What version Memory Manager do you have?

Memory Manager 3.0 - I finally just reinstalled SBC and got it to work.

Thanks for all of the help!

Now anyone have any good sites for getting freebies or for purchasing disney kits?

Check out mousescrappers dot com ... they have a number of SBC+ users who are very helpful and there's a forum where Dis-Designers annouce their new kits. For Disney-ish kits I like Britt-ish Designs, Natalie's Little Corner of the World, Peppermint Creative, Sahlin Studios and Wyld Peas ... also check out Scrapmatters, The Lily Pad, and Scrap Orchard.

HTH!
