Thanks! I was wondering... I have signed up for this but I didn't know how to find out...

Have you seen the wave & swell cutter? ( I don't know its real name.) It looks like the 12" trimmer except it cuts waves and swells instead of straight. The CMC had one at the party last week & said it was available May 1st. I liked it better than the template for the cutting system - but then I don't have the cutting system either.

I used the new wave cutter thingy--- it is kinda like a regular paper cutter, but I think the cutting system is better, gives more ooptions for dize and angle, you are forced to cut the paper up/down or side/side with this cutter. Just my Oppinon

Doesn't it have diagonal guidelines on it? Or am I thinking of a different tool? The way it was demo'd I thought it seemed to have more flexibility than the other.

The 12" pattern was the old, it had the straight, wave and swell. Now it is divided into 2 cutters, the straight trimmer and the decorative trimmer (the wave and swell one). They both work a ton better than the old 12" pattern because mine never fit properly on my mat and I would end up with not an even cut.

They are avail May first but if you hold a class or show with $500 in sales you can get one free. On the straight trimmer is where you can cut the 30/45/60 degree triangles. Those lines are on the decorative trimmer to but I don't see how you can do it.

Tubachick- I am confused by your comment. Could you clairify please? The two new trimmers does what the 12" pattern does only a little bit better because it doesn't move on the mat - which I had tons of complaints about. You can move the paper to allow customization of sizes.

I only used the new one-- once at a show, we were a little rushed, I was under the impression that you could only cut the 12x12 paper the traditional way and if you wanted a diagonal cut you could not use this cutting system. I will have to buy one in may and play with it a little more. let me know if anyone has gotten one yet if you can cut on a diagonal. I like to make pockets for things in my books and like to cut 12x12 in half diagonally. sorry if I spoke too soon above. (I am a little attached to my cutting system tough so this new one will have to be REALLY good.)

The new decorative trimmer with the waves and swells I don't see how you can cut it in half anyway. But the new 12" trimmer - which looks like this http://www.creativememories.com/ProductCollection/ProductCollection.aspx?gid=0&igid=1064 - you can cut the triangles and cut your paper in half just by positioning it diagonally.

This is great because the personal trimmer couldn't handle large paper.

The new decorative trimmer, I haven't played around with much yet but I am pretty sure you can only do the wave and swells with it.

Thanks for the info. I will check out the site, the CM at that party was a little off anyway.

Hiya,

THanks for the list of what's new...are there any Canadian CMs who could confirm if that's what's coming out over here too? I can't wait to see that Perfect Paper stuff.

Thanks.

Beth

Will any CMC share what the Nat'l Scrapbook Day's theme is this year? I want toknow if it's something that will be an incentive for me to go... :flower:

Sure it's ....drum roll....
Energize, Organize, Personalize!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
All of the gifts are based on that theme, so there are 3 different little packs you can get. I don't know what's in each off hand but they relate to the theme. :)

I went to the Scrapbook Expo yesterday, and there was a CM booth, I tried the new wave/swell trimmer. It's nice, it works smoothly, and it is easy to use. However there are no adjustments for doing a diagonal cut on a 12x12 piece of paper. I do have just about all of the cutting system pieces, and will probably get the new gemstone ones too, I do like that a little better. Thanks for your info, I was able to spot what I was interested in right away.

I'm a CMC so I got the new 12 inch decorative trimmer and I LOVE it, I found my self using it a lot where I never used the old wave cutter. All the new stuff coming out in May is great I was like a kid Christmas morning looking at it all.

Hi Beth,

Here is a Canadian CM site you can check out, http://www.creativememories.com/cwphome.aspx?GID=3790474

I hope that link will work, its the first time I've posted a link in a forum.

I just went to my first CM class on Monday. I ended up spending $457.00!! Not a wise thing to do with my WDW vacation less than a month away however, I was planning for my WDW scrapbook which will be my summer project.

Is Cm really going to come out with a 12 X 12 Disney albulm? Or is this just a rumor?

I haven't heard if they are or not. If someone does hear though I am sure they will let us all know. I know I would buy 10 right off the bat. Just keep putting in your request for on through the CM website and hopefully we will all get one.
