Well I dont think we will ever know(or care) what the exact moment is that they decided to have a press conference was, my only point which you seem to agree with is that it made yesterdays drama a waste of time.

As far as what positive has come from this thread? Very Little. Though I would say that very little negatives have come from this thread as well.

I disagree with very little coming from this. I think that it shows that there are a lot of caring people here. We live in a world where bad things happen to good people, and knowing that strangers are caring for and praying for them, their families, friends and coworkers is powerful.

Sorry..deleted any objectionable content. Certainly wasn't trying to start a debate.

Thank you...you can start a new thread on that topic, but just not on this thread as it is a different topic. Thanks again.

My DS spent A LOT of time in the lab everyday for seven days on a recent cruise this month and when I asked him general question about the staff he mentioned that the missing YA CM was one of the nicest ("always really nice") and it sounds like she had really touched him with her kindness. :sad1:
I am glad the discussion about this tragedy is limited to this one thread and not getting mixed in with all the other general question threads. As sad as it feels to me eventually everyone will need to move on. I wish there was more I could do for the family and staff but I know that now is not the time.

Just some additional context relative to challenges the family of the missing CM will be facing, because the Wonder being flagged in the Bahamas. The crux of that issue is the questionable objectivity of the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA), which owns and controls the investigation role in this disappearance. As the article puts it:

"trusting that the BMA will perform an energetic, fair and impartial investigation, or relying on the transparency and honesty of a foreign flagged cruise line, are naive and inherently risky propositions."

A missing child (even when grown) has to be the worst experience. The other day, my husband called me from home while I was on the way to work saying he could not find my elementary age son. He was actually in his bed under a buch of covers. I was furious at my husband b/c for the 5-10 minutes I waited for him to call me back, I was shaking so bad and almost to the point of hyperventilating - thinking of all the possibilities of what could have happened to him. I can not imagine how horrific it must be to go through that for days, weeks, or longer when a child is missing. Prayers to the family.

Her two friends were both from England (as I think the missing CM is) and their names are Jenny and Emma. Does anyone know if they are safe and accounted for?

.
The missing CM's name is Becca

Do you really believe, this is unique to the BMA?

My family is scheduled to cruise on this ship on 4/3...what I am trying to understand is if this is considered to be a crime scene? I want my family to be safe and this frightens me.

I have been following this thread from the beginning and am so sad for the reason this was started.... the loss of a CM from the Disney Wonder :sad1:

There seem to be many comments from posters concerned about themselves and their upcoming cruise. I really don't think this is a safety issue.

This is about a lost, sweet English girl, who obviously loved kids, was a good worker and whose employer happens to be Disney.

My thoughts are with her and her family. I hope that this turns out to be a happy ending, but I have my reservations.

To all CM's who are on the Wonder right now, Please look after yourselves and accept my hopes and prayers that she will be found.

Take care CM's :grouphug:

For past few nights everytime i wake up at night, Rebeccas face shows up. I have seen her so many times just 2 weeks back . And me and my wife even talked about her accent when she bought a British CM to the British folks dining next to us. She appeared so bubbly and cheerful. On top of that I am a CM too and this all feels like a family loss. So sad..

I am ashamed of so many on here with the backbiting. I understand those that are concerned about their child's safety and posting those concerns until the results are in as to if it was foul play or not. That being said the Disboards used to be a lot more positive place than it has been becoming lately, please consider if your post will help the conversation or hinder it.

As for alerting the news media, I know I did not do so; however, please note the origins of this came from a CM's Facebook post. Facebook posts are never completely private, no matter what privacy settings you have set, the media would have learned about this eventually. I do wish this had not been posted as this thread is likely to cause us delays, but if those delays find her or find out what happened to her, then it is all worth it. But even if this thread had not been posted the news media would have found out, most likely from the Facebook post, but if not, then from the passengers onboard. Do blame people on the boards for the media finding out about this story, it is too much of a story for them not to, but it probably wouldn't have been if it were any company besides Disney.

Now, let's all send our best wishes to the family and crew and post our interactions with this person, you know stories of what she was like, etc.

Amid all this bickering and fighting...does anyone know if there is any new information on Rebecca or what might have happened to her?
I am wondering if the Mexican Navy is still searching, anything that might bring this poor family from England some news?
The Wonder is due back in port tomorrow, does anyone know how the turnaround will be handled? I am hoping that the return of the ship will bring some answers for this family.

prayingfora miracle, great post and I'm sorry you had to do it. I want you to know that you, Becca, the family and all the CM's are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Hugs.

Please remember name calling is not allowed on this forum and even though I understand the feelings behind prayingforamiracles post but it will be deleted along with any post that quoted it. Everyone's emotions are running high right now. Please stop and think before posting if it will be hurtful to others or not.

The majority of posters on this thread have posted their sincere feelings about this and we all wish for a happy outcome.

Thank you.

MJ

Just an idea for those of you cruising the Wonder in the next few weeks. Instead of sympathy cards which reminds them of this hard time, maybe just be a little extra kind. Bigger tip or even a simple compliment makes a persons day. Just go out out of your way to be nice :)

I'm sure when the Wonder sound's her horn tomorrow when in her new home port, many many YA crew will shed a tear for their and the ship's lost sister, Becca.

I'm also sure that the crew of the Magic are also thinking of her. I do know they are.

Any guests boarding the Wonder, Magic, or Dream, please do not bring this horrible and tragic event up in conversation or otherwise.

The crew and ex-crew of the Wonder, also the Magic and Dream are all thinking of Becca, her family and our friends that are on these great ships.

If Becca is not found, I know DCL will honour Becca in some way (and in crew quarters immortalise her memory in some way).
She was part of that ship, that vessel, and her friends and family she made aboard will be able to remember her.

Thoughts to her family and friends
