I just called CRO to ask if any discounts have come out for my existing reservation(11/29-12/1), and the guy said "we have no discounts here at the reservation center. You can only find discounts online".

Has anyone ever heard of this before?

It has been reported on the DIS that WDTC/CRO will no longer tell you if a pin code is attached to your name. When you ask, some will look, but it has been reported that they aren't supposed to look anymore, unless you give them the pin code first.
 
The thing is, I didn't ask about a PIN code, never even said the word. I just asked if any discounts have come out. That's when he said they can only be found online. Hmmm:confused3

Wow, he really didn't want to go out of his way then, he wanted you to do all the work. I guess you could call back and see if you get a more "helpful" CM? In the interim, I'd highly recommend going to www.mousesavers.com to see all the latest deals and codes for packages and room-only bookings for your upcoming trip. Check every few days to see if something new has come out. Good luck.
 
Sounds like a lazy CM, sorry to say. His shift must have been almost over and he did not want to get stuck on a call. :rotfl:

When I was booking my trip last March, my PIN wasn't getting me anything I could use for our week. I asked if there were any other 'deals' right now at Disney, and the CM said he wasn't allowed to tell me about any, or direct me in any direction to get one. He said if I came across the code (three letter code) then he could try to search for something using that offer. I totally understand why Disney doesn't want their CM's to do this... it's like giving away free money to people who are calling and planning to book rack rate.

Luckily, I found a few deals, kept trying (still with no luck), and finally scored with my original PIN 3 days later.

Basically, go to Mousesavers.com and find all the codes that are public offers right now. Call back, and see what you can get applied. I think this is what he meant when he said "they are online".
