CM- Is breakfast that much better than dinner?

I've read a few threads about how mediocre CM is for dinner. We have dinner ressies for our trip in May. Should I try to switch to breakfast? We will be staying club level so I'm a little hesitant to book to many breakfast ADRs since we'll be able to eat in the lounge. We're already planning to do Tusker House and Kona for breakfast.

Never had dinner at CM, but I'll tell you, it is a great breakfast in WDW!!

You might consider getting a late ADR and counting it as an early lunch.

Are you asking about Chef Mickey's?

I've never had breakfast there because my family just isn't into big breakfasts so I can't vouch for the breakfast food, but I have no doubt it would be fine.

We've had dinner there on five trips now and will again next time. Four out of the five dinners were good to excellent in terms of both food and entertainment. Once it is just O.K., and I blame that from being seated in the side room. When we go from now on, we'll always ask for the main dining room.

If you have kids, Chef Mickey's is a must-do. Since it's buffet food whether breakfast or dinner, I would choose the meal your family would most enjoy eating a lot at. IOW, don't go by everything you read. The only true disaster we ever encountered in a WDW buffet was Boma's dinner, and that place gets rave reviews on here.

We have had both at CM. Personally I prefered breakfast (i'm a breakfast person), but would do dinner again without hesitation. The food is general buffet fare. The choice of desserts is very good though!

We had dinner at Chef Mickey's in September and really enjoyed it, one of the best dinner buffets we had there. Lots of "normal" food that my kids and my husband will eat.

We still do character breakfasts even though we stay CL. My kids like waffles, pancakes, breakfast pizza and french toast for breakfast. I really like eggs and fruit. DH just isn't into breakfast :rotfl:

We found (especially at the BWI) that their CL breakfast options were just not healthy. They had danishes and sugary cereals for the kids. We found they were just eating bagels and fruit. It just wasn't anything special. That after two mornings, we never hit the lounge for breakfast again.

We also do the DxDDP to allow for character breakfasts and dinners.

We've done CM for both meals and I personally prefer breakfast. Dinner is average, but the character interaction is fantastic!

Have yet to do breakfast there but did dinner in November and it was mediocre at best. The lunch we had at CP was actually MUCH better than the dinner at CM. I hope to try breakfast at CM in September for my birthday.

i had both booked and after reviews, i felt like it was not going to be good for dinner, so i almost cancelled it. Good thing i didnt, we loved it. the food was great. the mickey raviolis were cute and tasty. we had some of everything almost. Then came dessert time, oh wow! the make your own sundae was awesome, tons of toppings to choose from and then they had so many wonderful little desserts! we ate there for breakfast and the ice cream was not available, :sad2: and the food was just good. there was no selection of pastries besides a crossaint or bagel. the characters were the same for dinner and breakfast for us. we actually got a nicer quieter area for dinner. we had it right at opening and it was not crowded yet. the characters came quick and it was so much fun. i'd go back for dinner!
