CM forgot to give me free dining!

Once again - online reservations do not mention the free dining package. This is a known flaw.

AND .. Your reservation will not necessarily start with a K if you converted a previously existing reservation to the free dining program.

The first CM I talked to before my phone died almost booked our trip without the free dining as well. She quoted a price of $1300. I told her that's higher than what I thought it was going to be and then the phone died. The second CM got the free dining on our trip. The price is correct!

Last year if the confirmation number started with a K it meant you used the Disney Visa. There was never anything that said free dining on the reservation. However, when the documents arrived it said Dining Plan and there was no charge.

The FW Cabins are available for some dates. And Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa has very reasonable prices on studios for selected dates!

Hi!

Can anyone confirm that the FW Cabins had Free Dining packages?? For some reason I thought any suites would not be included, but I forgot to ask when I called.

We had a cabin with free dining last August, and for what it's worth, I tried to book WL standard view in December with the bounceback offer, and it wasn't available then. I ended up with woods view, which I later changed to POP and now we're saving so much money we can't afford not to go to WDW!

Suites are not included with discounts, but cabins and DVC villas can be.

Standard rooms are often not available at the WL with a discount - it's possible they just tend to sell out further ahead and there may be few rooms left to begin with.

One tip would be to check on the dates that are 14 days after Monday 4/9 and then again 14 days after today.. 4/12... anybody who didn't make their reservation deposit by then... their reservations will cancel and their rooms will be free.

Knox

Normally that might work. However, Disney Visa cardholders who got the free dining had to put their $200 deposit down at the time of the reservation, so the deposit is not due 14 days after Monday, 4/9. It was due at the time of the booking, so there probably won't be cancellations, at least not in 14 days. I know that if we didn't have our existing reservation on our Disney Visa (we did, but others in our Grand Gathering did not), then Disney credited the original $200 back to the first card and then charged the Disney Visa. I also made a second (new) reservation in addition to our first one because my 4 youngest kids are now going and we needed a 2nd room, and they charged my card right away.

Since the free dining came out for the general public today, they will have 14 days to make their deposit and then you might get some cancellations.

I had to give them the deposit today..which was okay, but he certainly did not give me the choice. Very nice CM though. I also called about the online ressie....I made mine this morning and it's on there but no mention about dining at all. So I called being the freak I am...lol. The CM (another nice one) told me that it will take a day or so to reflect the dining portion of the package. It should eventually say Magic Your Way September Dining Promotion or something to that effect according to this CM.

I know I'll feel more comfortable when I get my confirmation via mail or it ends up online with the dining.

The CM I talked with this morning said that the K in front of the number just meant that it was a free DDP booked with the Disney Visa.

As I said from the beginning.. flexibility in dates.. or resort choice or both was going to be key for free dining this year.. since the amount of rooms opened in this promotion this year was much less than last year.

And as I posted in another thread on this subject, Wildnerness Lodge was one of the tougher places to get this go around.

Even from the start of the promotion, while there were some standard, woods and courtyard view rooms available.. some weeks they only offered concierge level rooms ... and other weeks they offered NONE at all.

Awesome... I was wondering that myself for my Ressie.. Makes me a little happier knowing this..Thanks

If I'm not mistaken my ressie online does say I have the MYW package with dining. I compared my ressie price to the room only rack rate I got before the promotion and its the same. So I feel confident my dining is free.
