CM Discounts?

Hi, I had a few quick questions. What type of discounts do cast members get now for DVC. I read an older post saying the discount may go away. Also, I was told that if you work for WDW for at least 40 hours in a year, you get your discount and comp. tickets for the entire year, is this true? Thanks.

When we bought at BLT we got a 15% discount using our daughters CM discount. I dont know about the ticket question

Just did this yesterday, the current discount is 20 percent for CM's but only guaranteed through Jan 31. They may extend or not. No free tickets right now, but at AK, BLT and SS you do get an additional discount per point, different at each. If you call your rep, they can tell you.

Wow! When did they start doing the 20% discount? We just bought last month with the 15%. Got GCV for $80.20 per point. I hope it's not lower than that right now...we got 400 points

Our son is doing the college program and they tell you that there is a discount for cm's so we called to do an add-on last week and were pleasantly surprised to hear that the discount is 20% for a limited time. We also got a bit more off for not taking the AP's.

20% thats good we bought at SSR as they were closing it out ( before THV) and got 10% promo and 25% CM discount (our DS is a seasonal CM after doing CP in 2007). The 25% was a limited time only they went down to 15% After we bought our guide didn't think they would get over 15% again so good for you

There are different discounts for different types of cast members. WDW cast usually get a higher discount... I think it is 20%, but someone please jump in and correct me if I mistating... Other Disney cast members get 15%... But usually you can not sell your membership to anyone other than Disney for the amount you purchased for... check your contracts. I bought 4 contracts as a cast member with a 15% discount, the last two can only be sold to Disney and for the price I paid for them.

You would still receive your investment back on those last two contracts. I think that's a pretty good deal. Does it matter when you sell them?
