CM "Cast Names"...

I had Martha. I never knew they were given names. I almost said something because my dog's name is Martha. (Most people do not like it when I say they have the same name as my dog)

Too funny!! I spoke with an Arizona and she was a delight!! We even talked about how strange her name was!! She got me!!

Okay, so do they also do this at the restaurants??? We had a waiter at Primetime whose name was Anass. I thought, poor soul!! He pronounced it " A nass", but how cruel is that????

Well, I talked to Shirley and Lisa.

Those names are not unusual. :)

Your CM was Seven?! George from Seinfeld would be so proud!!!

(True story - specifics changed to protect the flighty but nice.) My waitress at Spoodles a couple years ago came over to the table and said, "Hi, my name is Linda, and I'll be your server." She notices me eyeing her name tag, which said "Sandy," so she says, "Uh, my name is really Linda, I just left my tag at home and borrowed Sandy's because they don't let us work without one." She then scurried away, before I could ask her any questions! :)

You'll love this one. The CM I spoke to today to make my ressies was Bergito Gail (sp?). Now THAT's different!!

That is very true, if you don't have a back up name tag and your breaks or is lost, you can either borrow one from someone not working or grab one from the managers stash. I am Suzanne but I've been Annie, Sylvia to name a few. Once I was even Marcos.

Could it have been 7 of 9?

Sorry cannot resist to combine my 2 favorites Disney and Star Trek!

At the parks and resorts, it is that cast members real name, and hometown.

Probably about 2 years ago, I got a CM named "Ariel" when calling to make ressies. When she said "Ariel" I said "Oh yes, and I am Mary Poppins" ROFL:rotfl:

I definitely didn't buy THAT name, LOL, but I have noticed that they have gotten stranger.

Now my suspicions have been confirmed! ::yes::

When Wilderness Lodge first oppened, the CM's at Whipering Canyon all had silly names. Things like Wild Rosemary and such. It was so much fun. The silly names with silly fun.

I caught on to the fact that the names were fake when a CM named Pepper Ann took my call.

When I booked my trip about 3 weeks ago the CM's name was Opal Camille. I thought that was a little different at the time. Now I know why. Hee Hee.:rotfl:

For all intents and purposes, it is his real name. The previous CM who revealed that it wasnt, well, she wasn't really maintaining the magic.

Actually, knowing it made it more magical for me. I think it's so cool that they do that. Maybe she wasn't supposed to tell me, but it made my phone call experience more magical. I apologize if my posting it took away anyone else's magic, I just think it's really neat. To me it shows how much thought and planning Disney takes into everything they do.

The other night I had Gino. He sounded Italian (NY Italian), so it fit.

I had no clue either..I do recall thinking how original all their names were (my son has a very original name so I note these things!).
My favorite CM ever was RAVEN... I had her more than once and she was awesome..I even called back and asked to speak with her supervisor to let her know what a good job Raven did :)
I wonder if she still works there..
So once a person leaves their position is their name retired...or is it recycled and given to a new person?? hmmm... :)

Hi, This is a GREAT thread and I NEVER knew this either!! Although I did know that sometimes they use other peoples nametags when they cannot find their own!Now I just wish I could remember the CM's name that I spoke with last night at about 8:30. She was WONDERFUL and talked to me for quite some time and helped me change a reservation.I would definitely ASK for her again! She was SOOOO friendly and had a slight southern accent. She put in 3 reqeusts for me on my Res. and kept asking if there was anything else! She also offered to send me ALL KINDS of WDW info, even though she told me I had visited OVER 25x.The only thing I forgot to tell her was that I was making a 3 nite Res. at the GF to celebrate my DH 20th year of service in the Air Force! (the GF is just his FAVORITE place to stay!)I know her name is SOMEWHERE in my memory,it would be so nice to call back and get her again! I would definitely tell her what a super CM she was! Joan
