Not Clueless, just opinionated: When leaving Epcot, somewhere by Spaceship Earth, I heard a man saying to his wife we'll go out here and get the boat. I politely pointed out that to get to the boats, he needed to go back into Epcot and out the international Gateway, that's where the boats were to MGM and the hotels. His replywas "no we don't want the boats to the countries, we want the boat to the hotels! We need to go this way" very rudely! Good Luck to him!

A streetmosphere/parade character at MGM, a lady in 1800's costume in a motor car of that period - "Hey, there's Mary Poppins!"

Two people passing by Rafiki and Timon who were out giving autographs, One said to the other, "Wow, that must be hot" Their friend replies, "Yeah, but they're not human!" ( that is wrong on so many accounts!!)

I just got back from a trip to WDW with 3 friends - 2 had never been and 1 hadn't been in 25 years.

The F&W festival was going on at Epcot, but they did not even want to stop to read the selections. The food was too "weird". They wanted to go to the American Pavillion where you could get "normal" food. All three of them had chicken fingers and fries and pronounced it the best food they'd had at WDW.

One did not want to go on Haunted Mansion because she didn't like scary rides. I had given them a Passporter a few months ago, and references to several web sites. We even met for dinner to plan the trip. At AK we went to Lion King and the Safari, and they were ready to leave.

One did say that this was a once in a lifetime trip as she would never go back - too much walking. They were all younger than I am, but pretty sedentary.

But I kept telling myself that this trip was not about ME - it was for them. I have a 2 week trip planned in early December. I really thought they were bored at times, but I heard them talking on cell phones to others and they were raving about how wonderful it was, so it was a successful trip after all.

I've posted these stories before on the DVC thread, but thought you'd all get a chuckle. Took my parents and the in-laws to BCV last summer with our kids. It was quite an adventure.

For example:
You know how outside the astro orbiter there is on the ground (before you even get in the line) a mock orbiter that little kids can sit in to get their pix taken, etc? I was trying to tell my very ill DM that I thought she would have problems getting in and out of the ride (her equilibrium is very bad) and I was afraid she might be ill after riding the ride. So, she gets in that mock ride seat and sits there and says "that's it? you thought I'd have a problem with this? what do you think I am? Is this all it does? Geez, you'd expect more at Disneyworld"
And she was not kidding, either.

Also:
My parents insisted they knew how to get back to BCV from MK and I directed them toward the buses. Two hours later, they told me they had just gotten back. Somehow got off at the wrong stop and wandered into some hotel and asked the front desk CM if they were staying there. The CM called around to a bunch of hotels to find where they were staying and then told them how to get there. Can you imagine being that CM?

My MIL is like this. Sometimes DW and I have a hard time deciding if she is enjoying herself when we travel together. Then we get home and hear her raving to all her friends and other relatives about every detail of the trip. We took her on her first cruise in June. She seemed to be enjoying herself, but after we got back she couldn't stop telling everyone who would listen about how wonderful it was and how she couldn't wait to take another one. When she heard we were taking another cruise in March, she let us know right away that she'd like to join us again.

DH & I were on a bus a couple of years ago, it was the middle of the afternoon & there was only 1 other family on the bus. They had JUST gotten to WDW. Dad had everything planned out. I remember him saying (something to the effect of) "Okay, we're not going to be like all these other families you see who are tired & getting angry at their kids. We're just going to take it slow and have a great time." DH & I just smiled thinking "idiot". They had 3 or 4 kids, the kids were in the back of the bus jumping up & down on the seats. The Dad told them a couple of times to sit down, he finally turned around and said rather loudly, "I'm not going to tell you again to SIT DOWN, if you can't do that then we'll go back to the hotel". Then the bus stopped, we got off laughing. I would've loved to follow them around just to see how long it took those kids to start really getting on his nerves.

On Our Oct. trip, we came across a really obnoxious lady that wanted everyone to know that she had money (I suppose). She didn't make stupid park comments but we were on the monorail going to MK. As we were passing by the rooms at the Poly (the garden view rooms) that face outward toward the monorail, she looked at the other couple they were with and said, "see those rooms? Those are the *cheap* rooms" I got ready to say, CHEAP rooms? Those are $300 a night rooms, I hardly call that cheap, but I just sat & listened to her go on & on about how horrible they were. When the monorail pulled up to the Grand Floridian, she said (loud enough for all to hear) "Oh, here we are, home sweet home" & kept making comments so everyone around would know that she was staying there and not in one of those "cheap" rooms at the Poly. People like her are the reason DH doesn't want to stay at the Grd. Fl.
