I am almost loath to let this cat out of the bag, but I'd feel just awful if I didn't mention this to all of my friends here at the Disneyinto boards. There is a wonderful attraction where you and your family can enjoy all of the rides and attractions all day long with absolutely no one else in line. Yep, I'm talking about The Walt Disney World's River Company, near The Walt Disney World's camping station.

The water isn't heated, but the lack of crowds more that makes up for that little inconvenience. In the middle of a Florida summer, I'm now sure how valuable heated water is anyhow. If you are really hung up on heated water, have your little ones drink lots of water about a half hour before you (and especially them) go.

There are all kinds of swings and ladders and jumping-off places scattered throughout River Company. More than enough to keep you and yours happy and busy. There is also a swimming pool near the front of this park. The pool is empty and signifies that you don't need to have a lot of modern conveniences like water filtration to have a good time.

My favorite attraction there is the Cement Runs. You climb up a series of steps to the top of the cement runs and then take a very brisk run down them! Some of the drops are very steep and the things wind back and forth pretty severely, but it is well worth the effort when you reach the beckoning green waters of the river. Just a word of advice for The Walt Disney World - you might consider putting in a first aid station so that people can patch up the inevitable nicks and scrapes they'll get on the Cement Runs. I've learned to bring my own, put not everyone is as savvy as I.

I hope you have found this touring tip useful!

This is the another in a series of honest and objective looks into The Walt Disney World by your humble servant, clueless adventurer. I hope to stimulate lots of stimulating stimulation about The Walt Disney World. Thank you for your kind attention!

 If you're talking about River Country, it closed down quite awhile ago.

I know this would be funny if I knew what you were alluding to.;)
Clue me in!:p

I love your "objective looks." :teeth:

Cement Runs was my favorite when the River Company was open, too.

lol! I wish I could have seen River Country when it was open. Maybe it will open again one day.

Clueless Adventurer, you seem a bit familiar to me  :)

I'll try that next time Clueless! Thanks! Is there any sort of barbed wire fence I would have to climb to gain admission? Could I be arrested? I don't mind if I get worms from the water but I really don't want to get thrown in jail on vacation! Thanks!

Love it, clueless...

I also missed out on River Country in it's heyday. Thanks for the insight!!! :worship:

Tykes - I have one of those faces.....:)

MosMom - there wasn't any barbed wire, but the whole thing is done up like some abandoned play area. Those Imagine Dears are really so creative! I didn't see any worms in the water. You'll have to bring your own, I'm afraid.

I see that the theming has quite a few of you buffaloed into thinking it really is closed! No offense, but that means more room for me!

I try to be good, stevenpensacola, but sometimes it's a real struggle. :)
