Clueless about how to Rent DVC Points

Hi! can anyone clue me in as how the DVC renting works??? I'm really confused. I'm not getting the points system and how do you rent your resort from someone else?

Even if someone could just direct me to the appropriate link where I could read up on it, that would be appreciated too.

I'm asking because I'm checking out my options for my DFTW/Honeymoon end of August/Beginning of September.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Please be sure and educate yourself on how a DVC reservation is very different from a regular hotel reservation, and the basics of “renting points”, as it is often referred to.

Then, you should read the "sticky" posts at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade board which explain how to post on the Rent/Trade board.

also, be aware that point rentals are not eligible for "free dining" if it is offered during your stay.

(this may be too obvious, but the point charts to figure how many pts you need for stays at different DVC resorts are in the top-right-hand corner of this webpage.)

Thanks for the info... it cleared things up for me. I actually will decide against it since it is my honeymoon and I would rather have the convenince
