Club Villain looks really cool, but is it worth the price? I have a party of three so it's around $387!

1) I have always been an opponent of special "Hard Ticket" events, and thought they had little "worth".
2) However, the wife REALLY liked this one.
3) In this case, "worth" can be stretched a little.

note: HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE. That is also why I pay to send her and her girlfriend to Paul McCartney concerts WHEREVER they are in the USA. She is the consummate Beatles Freak. I think she owns one (1) t-shirt that is not emblazoned with Beatles lettering or artwork.

As @TheRustyScupper pointed out, worth can be very subjective. I debated booking it for my upcoming trip as it is a lot of money for a two hour event. I read the descriptions on the boards here and watched the Dis Unplugged review. Everyone seemed pretty positive and a buffet dinner offered, alcoholic drinks, entertainment, and (rare) character interactions are highlights of the even. Since my mother's favorite character is Maleficent, which is a pretty rare character meet and greet here in WDW, I went ahead and purchased tickets. After doing so I found out that there is a $30 discount for AP members (which also applies to DVC). So the price for me was a bit easier to add to my budget at $99 per ticket. (Please note, in my experience only one person needs to be an AP/DVC member to purchase the discounted tickets for the whole party.)

I would suggest watching the podcast, linked above and queued to the start of the review, and decide for yourself.

To me, yes, one of the best events we have done.

Factor what this would cost and if all the components work for you:
Champagne at check in
Buffet Dinner
Dessert Party
Open unlimited Bar, specialty mixed drinks, beer, sangria
Unlimited soft drinks
Entertainment - show
Dancing if you like
Fairly private and unrushed meet with 4 villains (who are awesome)
Awesome themed and decorated

We attended this past Friday. I would agree that the price felt a little high when I booked it. However once we were there I soon realized that this is not just another upsell event. Far superior to the dessert parties that they are charging $79 for in some cases. Specialty drinks were good and were always waiting there on the bar with no lines. Food was good although we didn't eat much because we spent most of the 2 hours with characters and on the dance floor. Which brings me to the characters. These were far and away THE BEST character meet-and-greets we have ever experienced. Not rushed whatsoever. When you arrive you are given a time to meet them so this meant no standing in line for that either. All of the characters were top notch. Dr. Facillier, Konzo, Evil Queen, Queen of Hearts and especially Cruella were all amazing. Cruella was all over the place. On her sofa, on the dance floor with kids and adults, she even wandered over to Maleficent while we were meeting her.

We liked it but we're big villains fans and hate the idea of standing for hours in line to get pics with them during things like mnsshp etc...We enjoy dancing and all the theme food...plus all you can eat and drink (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) so for us it was worth it. My granddaughter and niece both dressed up when we went and the adults all wore a villain t-shirt just to play along lol. I like having a set time to get pics with the villains so that you're not standing in a line. I liked that the photopass people would take pics both when the characters are there and in their sets when they weren't...we had just as much fun taking pics on their sets without them. I look at it like look how quickly people jump and book character meals and they aren't cheap either so it's all in what you're looking for in your visit.

What kind of food is in the buffet dinner?

From the website - so the same as we went the first round.

"This spellbinding evening serves up decadent New Orleans delicacies like tender beef striploin rubbed with herbes de Provence, Voodoo sticky “pig wings” with citrus gremolata and spicy shrimp sautéed with Andouille sausage, tomato, creamy polenta with fire-kissed corn."

Here was the menu they gave out -

Both sides of room had same exact food items so you didn't need to go to both.
The main foods were on several different lengths of table as shown above.

The DESSERTS were all named for the different Villains but there seemed to be more than four.

Here are some food photos sources:

I am not a huge villain fan, really I'm not. However, my boyfriend REALLY wanted to attend an we love food, so I agreed. Value wise? Extremely good for anyone that likes to eat/drink. I can't drink much alcohol but I definitely understand the value of the open bar.
My boyfriend is also into character hunting (for photos and autographs, if available), so for those also into that, it is quite amazing. The areas where the villains reside for photos are thrones and is completely decorated/designed just for that villain. I was a bit awkward interaction wise but I loved taking so lo shots on the thrones (at the end of the party).
The show was quite entertaining and well done.
Dance floor was pretty dead, but that's ok.
The quality of the food was impressive for a buffet, the bussers/waiters were quite attentive through the first half of the event and then slowly faded until they saw you needed assistance (since everyone was winding down at the end).

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and if someone offered to take me, on their dime, I'd go. Otherwise, I'd like to use the money for an experience I haven't tried. This is my view, someone that loves food and shows but not hugely jazzed over villains or dancing.

My boyfriend? LOVES IT! He loved every aspect of it and you will too if you enjoy any of the above ^_^

Ultimately, I loved seeing him happy and the food was quite good :)

P.S. The characters are truly amazing with their roles. AMAZING. I'm still scared of Malificent.

Here's some photos. We attended early September :)

We just did Club Villain this past Saturday. I have been to many hard ticket and special events at WDW and this was BY FAR, the best event I have ever attended at WDW. The theming, food and talent were off the charts. It was worth every penny.

My family loved this event!! I was a little hesitant to shell out the cost for my family of three when we went for the first time back in April, but once we were there I was SO glad I did! My DD (7) and I attended again in October (it was the first thing she listed when I asked if there was anything she wanted to repeat from our prior trip), and we're planning to attend again with other family members if the event is extended into February.

Previous posters have all given great info for you to consider, so I won't repeat the details - but if it sounds like something you're interested in and if you can swing it from a cost perspective, I highly recommend going!

We felt it was definitely worth the price. The food was really great and the character interaction was something you can't get elsewhere. Add in the top notch floor show and you definitely are getting your money's worth.

I was really hoping that WDW would give us a Christmas present and release February and March dates for Club Villain this morning, but alas, I'm disappointed once again.

I had been hoping they would add more dates for this when it finished in January but today I cant even see it on the dining page. Just wondered what the latest news was on this one

I was hoping the same thing! I'm going for my DD's spring break, just her and me, and I thought she'd enjoy trying something new. It isn't cheap, but we're going on her birthday, so I'm doing special things (got brunch at Cali Grill booked for that Sunday).

Maybe they will either bring it back, or do something similar?

1) Each Villain has their own food.
2) It is not a single large/long buffet table.
3) The dishes are well-suited to the personality of the villain.
4) We no one who did not eat at each buffet.

The food is actually the same on both sides. Each villain has their own desserts.
