Club Upgrade Check In

Hi!

DH is thinking he wants to try out the PBH instead of going to the HRH. We have 5 in our party and he is concerned we will not get the deluxe Queen club level. So we are checking into PBH and since I am platinum we are upgraded to a Portofino suite, at the excellent rate of $1235.00 for our stay 5 days during Tday week. That is cheaper than our club rate ($1645.00) at HRH.

So what are my chances of getting club access added to my suite for a fee? I know it's like $75.00 or something, and we don't mind paying it, I'm worried we won't get it because it is Tday week. Anyone had any luck during a holiday doing this?

I had no problem adding club when staying the first week of July last year.

i avoid the parks and hotels at all winter holiday time.
i only know what my friends tell me when they go during those time periods.

We have been Thanksgiving week the past few years and we have never had a problem adding club at the Portofino during that week.

See being Canadian I was confused - I thought there was a holiday in the first week of July - somewhere around the 4th for you folks isn't it?

Thanks everyone, I talked it over with DH and we are most likely going to go for it, especially since this will be the LAST suite upgrade we ever get through Loews with their new benefits card.

We were there last year for Thanksgiving week and plan to do it this year also. We have club added on - no problem..Last year the crowds were not bad at all- Mon through Wed. Thanksgiving day was not too bad either. The crowds picked up like crazy on Friday and were bad on Saturday!

If you want a good Thanksgiving buffet I would try Trattoria- we did it last year and it was incredible!

Thanksgiving week is our tradition. We celebrate my birthday (was born on Tday) and DH's DS birthday.

We go the week of and leave the day after. It is just too busy that weekend. I love it that time of year, perfect weather, not to hot in the afternoons.

If you want a good Thanksgiving buffet I would try Trattoria- we did it last year and it was incredible!

I really want to try the buffet out this year, isn't it like $50 for adults? What is the child's price? We will have six eating that night, DH and I, my 2 stepchildren, and our two DD's under the age of 10. Guess that $100 credit for platinum members might make that do-able?

Hi Tizzy Meliss-

you picked the perfect time to go. We are arriving a day earlier this year and leaving on Saturday. That weekend was too crazy for us last year.

we are thinking the same thing about the 100 dollar credit. It was 50.00 each for adults - I think it was about 35.00 for children. It is definately worth it though. We get a 10 percent off with our annual passes also- every little bit helps.

They have the Christmas tree lighting in the harbor on the Friday after Thanksgiving also. They also have Harbor Nights - we did it last year and it was a lot of fun. I think it was about 30.00 per person- they had food booths around the harbor.
