I had read someone speculating that they may change the race season to the calendar year and not the November to April race season, so maybe things are changing a bit???

That was me. I think it would make a ton more sense and avoid a lot of confusion and having to explain the "membership year" vs "race year" thing.

Replying to myself: I suspect the email is wrong, since general registration is August 27th.

It is usually a week before general, so probably the 20th.

Hopefully better than it did in January.

All kidding aside, you'll get an email a few days to a week out with the times for Platinum and Gold entry. If it's in the same location as last time, the wristband distribution/lineup was at the back corner of the expo building behind the DL Hotel. Expect to wait. I'm Platinum and got there about 20 minutes early in January. I waited outside for about 10 minutes then in the inside holding area for another 45 before getting in to shop as they regulated how many people were in there at a time.
