Club level guests can buy more fast passes?

Its all my fault. I'm probably the worst Disney guest. I have a AP, stay offsite, eat offsite, and other than buying a Mickey Bar, Christmas ornament, and a few beers in WS, I spend very little money. They are over compensating for me.

EDIT: and by the way, they snuck a beer shrink on me in WS.

OTOH, I am a very vocal and loyal Swolphin fan and have already decided on staying CL for the opening of SWL as I mentioned above, so WDW is getting a lot more money from me with this offering. I'm betting I'm not the only person who will make that same evaluation.

ETA: I'm hoping for 3 rides on SW rides opening day.

But you are just taking one of the CL spots they already would have sold, they are going to roll this out further. Really all the "extra" they are getting from you is the FP purchases.

And they are getting another customer "onsite" vs. whatever they get from a Swolphin guest. I may push someone else out of CL, but I bet that person will remain an onsite client. This is enough of a perk to drive *me* into a pretty pricey onsite room and throwing extra at the FPs and the additional food spend which they wouldn't otherwise capture. I'm probably not the only person who will make that decision.

I think you are actually proving my overall point, people are going to do this, and then more people will because they will roll it out further, and people will feed the machine. In the end, you wont be getting an FP for a headliner unless you pay for it, not a good development IMO.

It works at Universal and is awesome. I just don't mind paying for extra access. Other people value the parties and dessert things, and whatever. For *me* this is an appealing development.

ETA: I'm pretty excited about getting 2 "for sure" rides when SWL opens. Why wouldn't WDW want to make more clients happy?

If enough people start doing it, it becomes simply a must add on. The benefit of it disappears, and you are now just paying an extra $50 / person / day to get the same thing you had before.

I understand you think that. I think they've priced this high enough with the CL pricing included, that won't happen. We disagree. I mean lots of people at WDW have children with them (shudder...lol), so it'd be $400 extra per day for the typical family ($200 for CL and $200 for FP). I think most families won't fork over the cash, and it's nice that those that want to will have the opportunity.

The DVC AKV club level is always gone because there are 10 rooms-- 5 studios and 5 one bedrooms. That said, in lowest seasons the studio is around 20 points. at 6.50 approx for dues that's $130 per night. ......

Honestly, if this is super popular, they can easily add CL rooms to the inventory of the regular hotels. Throw another lounge up and you're set.

Agreed. The new DVC at WL has a sort of club level add on in a new lounge area-- no reason they can't do that for all....a flex space for the regular club overflow...

Thanks for the insight. So you are saying you can book the same attraction twice in the same day? Once with one of the 3 normal FP+s and once more with the purchased FP+?

That's what the CM at Signature Services told me. I even rephrased my question and got the same answer. Time will tell!

The real point here is that this wont stay club level only. Club level is just to roll it out in a limited fashion, they will then extend this saying something to the effect that others have already been able to purchase them, or due to "guest demand" ... etc.

A little more insight. I called this morning around 8:00 and reservations told me they did not have a Standard Club level, Theme park View available. They only offered me a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom suite. I looked and seen the room I wanted available on my end. She told me there is a few separate room "pools" so if someone is looking online and picks a room, someone on the phone cannot snag it before they book it. I didn't buy that for the reason she was giving me. I said "What's the difference in someone else on line snagging it". She told me once you grab it on line and it's in your cart, it's yours till you check out or delete it that day. Anyway, I was frustrated so I hung up and called Guest Services. They informed me the reason reservations could not give me the room was because I have Free Dining on my Magic My Way package that I booked as a Bounce Back. I almost gave up but the CM was super helpful and she put me on hold for about 15 minutes. When she came back she had a reservation specialist, (if there is such a thing) on the phone and told me she would help me. She pulled up my reservation and asked me which room I wanted, confirmed and booked it in about 5 minutes. I was able to keep my Free Dining and everything else I booked. Total charge for 10 nights from Theme Park View to Theme Park View CL was $955.25. I did the math and we eat 3 times a day and have to always purchase that 3rd meal with the regular dining plan so on average we spend (if it were quick serve) $10-15 each so $40-60 a day. We will save that $400-600 to offset the $955 upcharge since we will be eating breakfast (included in CL) before we leave the resort. That also means more park time and not rushing or missing a breakfast ADR. I can live with $355 to upgrade to CL. Now its gonna cost us $1800 for the "Theme park Extra" package since we will do it for 9 days of parks but with the Preferred viewing location for nighttime spectaculars, the extra FP+, the advanced booking time, the less stress of finding that hard to get ride plus we can do so much more than waiting in lines, I think it's a great value.

Disney has opened the 60 Day FP window to more resorts = more people in the pool = longer FP lines
Disney now will offer some to purchase additional FP = more people in the pool = longer FP lines

So in the near future popular attractions will be 2+ hour lines and 45min to 1 hr FP lines. Not a good thing.

Hopefully it will stay cl and become cheaper or free because no one will pay for it.... and hopefully because there is not enough FPP to pull out of regular circulation....

And my purchase price divided out over the length of the contract, per point comes to an extra 1.75 per point. However, if I sell them, this goes away, as does some of the maintenance fees, since the contracts are now selling for twice what I paid........smiley face. lol.

Does something like this appeal more to you vs like a VIP tour like they had at AK where you could stay wherever you want but then just pay $200/person for access and guaranteeing getting on both Star Wars rides?

Yeah, this type of structure definitely isn't the best for me and my darn kids () but for a couples trip or similar I could see it make a lot of sense - especially if AK CL is *only* $70. Then it is like $170 for breakfast, drinks, snacks, some other extras and 2-3 rides at Star Wars land per day

So much more. I don't like strangers. I would have done a VIP tour at some point in my WDW travels to do more rides faster, but hanging with a random stranger for the day makes me want to vomit. I have enjoyed the Keys to the Kingdom tour because of the knowledge of the leader, but I HATED the chatty people we were with. Now, if the VIP tour guides were as knowledgeable as the KTTK tour guides I would be on it. Based on all the experiences friends have had with VIP tours, I don't get the feeling that they are.
