Club level at the Poly?

Out of all of our CL stays, this was the one we could've done without. Don't get me wrong, we love staying CL...but at Poly we just didn't feel we needed it or the extra expense. The resort is lovely and we'd been perfectly happy staying in a reg GV room.

I have to agree with this post. We've stayed CL at the Poly 3 times, and we were just not impressed the last couple of times. Since our last Poly stay we stayed CL at the YC and noticed a huge difference. The YC CMs were great and the lounge offerings were much better. We're headed back to the YC CL in April and can't wait.

Just my $.02 worth......

I stayed club level all over Disney World...and just stopped.

It's worth it if you value what they're offering...I just don't. I can get myself MUCH better snacks during a quick grocery stop. I don't need the bed turned down.

Since we're up and in the parks early, taking a break and going back in the late afternoon, I was almost never there for their appetizer dinner offerings.

I can call Disney Dining instead of calling the club level number to make dining reservations. I don't really care which number I dial...at all.

The only thing I missed when I quit staying club level was them delivering stuff I bought to my room. I quit shopping so much, which is good in more ways than one! :)

We've stayed club level at the Poly 2x and BC once and totally love it. I don't try to put a "is it worth it" value on it - I don't do it for the value. I do it because I like to be spoiled. And I love the Poly lounge and the view. The BC lounge was just okay to me - a little small.

For my family, the location alone is "worth it". The volcano pool is 5 steps from the building, and the GCH is a 2 minute walk. Watching Wishes from the lounge is amazing, and the view simply can't be beat. We enjoyed our Poly CL stay much more than our GF SL stay in September.

We have stayed CL at the Poly many times and love it! It's hard to say if CL is worth it because different things are inportant to different people. Our last visit there was 2009. For our family, CL pays for itself in convenience, location and the security of a key access building.

We stayed at the Poly CL in 2010 and are heading back there again this summer. While $$ wise it would probably be cheaper to get our own drinks and snacks, we enjoyed the location and the lounge so much that we didn't think twice about returning.:)

We are here now, and for us it has been worth ever penny. I cannot say enough about the location, just steps from the pool and the beach. The lounge itself is pretty nice. We have actually had a hard time spending our food budget this trip. Instead of buying breakfast, lunch and dinner, we have had a grab and go breakfast in the lounge, ate lunch out, then snacks and desserts in the evenings. For 4 people, eating a nice sit down lunch has been less than $100 a day. We go to the lounge in the evenings for our drinks and sit on the patio to watch the fireworks. The staff here has been EXCELLENT! Upon our arrival we were told we had been upgraged to lagoon view. We have had a perfect view of the fireworks every night due to the upgrade, no crowds! Oh and the drink that they serve in the lounge...the best! I can't remember what it is called right now....maybe because I am sipping on my 3rd....but it's delicious!

Good luck with your decision! We have fallen head over heels for the Poly. All of our trips will be to the CL from here on out.

Always stay in the Poly CL and absolutely love it. For us absolutely worth it but maybe not for everyone. The CL staff are great, the complimentary drinks (including alcohol) food and snacks throughout the day are terrific. Wouldn't do Disney without it.

We love staying CL at the Poly. We love being able to get a quick bite in the morning. Also, being able to grab a coke anytime we want. My husband loved the beer selection.

The location can't be beat and I love watching Wishes from our room (we like TPV).

Is it expensive? Yes, but we enjoy it so everything about the CL at Poly, we are willing to pay the price.

I'm not a fan of the Poly CL and would never stay there again unless the entire building is renovated. They could at least keep the hall carpets clean. We stayed in December 2010 for four nights. It was filthy, the lounge looked like a dining room vs. a lounge where we could relax, and I didn't care for the food offerings. We stayed GF SL this December and had a wonderful experience there. I actually prefer BW CL out of all the resorts with CL and we've tried them all. I wouldn't really discourage someone from staying CL at the Poly but there are buildings closer to the GCH and just as close to the pool. Anyone can watch Wishes from the beach. You just have to decide whether or not the additional $$ is worth it. I'm glad I tried it once.

This was our second CL stay at WDW. First was the WL and second was Poly. We had a MK view room too and it still wasn't worth it. It is way overrated and you really get nothing extra. Unless you want to pay $500 a night for some extras as in gold fish crackers, and a beer, if you can get someone to get it for you, then don't bother. I'm also used to concierge in other hotels that can pull strings and get you into a dinner if you need it. Concierge here gets you nothing. This was our one and only disappointment ever at WDW.

When we stayed there back in 2004, we got the 7 for 4 deal. Pay for 4 nights stay 7 so it was almost half price which definitely made it worth it.

Loved being on the monorail too.

If you have kids, the snacks are very helpful.

They were able to book are entire group on an illuminations cruise too.

We also stayed at the Poly, club level, in December 2010 and would never return for many of the reasons already stated here. Since I've already detailed my experience on the Dis, I won't bore anyone by restating the gory details, but if you're curious you can read my previous posts on the subject here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=39260017#post39260017

I too was worried prior to departing and reading bad reviews (and posted about my fears on this board).Unfortunately, I found the bad reviews, at least for my trip, all too accurate. We had a much better, though not perfect, experience at the Grand Floridian RPC last September.

And, while I still don't think that any Disney resort offers a true, "deluxe" hotel experience, and all are terribly over-priced, especially at club level, we WOULD return to the Grand Floridian RPC if the price were right. Not so much with the Poly.

Don't get me wrong. We always stay at the Poly and love it. We get garden view facing the volcano pool. I think the CL trip was our 30 stay at the Poly and it was the worse stay there. The only snacks they had for kids were gold fish crackers and if DD was lucky, some stale gummies. LOL

When I wanted a beer I had to hunt down someone to get it for me. Same with soda. They never seemed to want to keep any in the fridge for self serve. Heaven forbid I asked for two beers at once. They didn't want to give them to me. LOL The Wilderness Lodge CL was much better IMO. The fridge was stocked at all times and the appetizers were delicious at the WL. The Poly apps were mostly sushi, sushi, and more sushi. We had none of the menu that so many here talk about. Breakfast consisted of stale muffins and dry cereal. The service wasn't any different then any other part of the resort which was surprising. We were there for 9 days and not once could concierge fit us in a restaurant for a last minute reservation. By last minute, I mean asking early am for evening meal. To me, concierge should be all about service. It really wasn't.

One word of warning, don't get the MK view on the first floor. When we attempted to watch the fireworks from our room one night we had an audience of anyone and everyone that walked by to see fireworks too. It was like we were on display! LOL That and them stealing our chairs for their own personal viewing.

To each his own, but I wouldn't pay one penny more to stay in the Poly CL.
