Club 33!!

Oh we were total tourists when we went! LOL! We got the mouse ears, we got shirts, we got jackets, we got pins, pens, shot glasses, all of it!

They had heavy-weight paper towels in the bathrooms with the club logo in gold on them. They also had little stir sticks with the logo. I have a towel and a stir stick in a memory box with photos on my living room wall.

Nothing wrong with being a super nerd.

Awesome. Been trying to go for years through 2 different people DH knows, but it never works out. Have my fingers crossed for October, but it is not looking good either. I finally put my name on the list (thinking it was still $3600 a year) when it opened up last year. In 15-20 years (approximate waiting list), I may finally get to go (if I can part with 10k a year or more if the price goes up again). Have a lot of fun. I know a lot of people (like me) who are super excited for you. Most people just say, "what's that?" I hope you are able to get your hands on some awesome gear. The ears are way cool.

I hope they have some when I'm there in July.

I get a little dismayed that things are often unavailable (and I'm not just talking about Club 33 items) because people buy them up to resell on ebay. They can add a good markup because they're no longer available in the store and they're no longer available in the store because the ebay-type sellers have bought them up. It forces someone who really wants something to pay more than they should have to.

I have no idea if this happens at 33. In the case of the ears, there are plenty of people who have been eagerly waiting for them because they actually want them and I'm happy for those who got some. But I do think it might be appropriate to put a limit on how many one person can buy (if there isn't already a limit in place) to prevent a few people from buying up the inventory, especially when it isn't replenished regularly.

Congratulations on the meal at Club 33. I ate there once when I was in law school. The judge that I clerked for was a member, and the chambers Christmas party was held at Club 33.

So happy for you! I've been asking everyone I know about Club 33, hoping to take my husband for his 40th birthday in mid-August. This gives me hope that, when I least expect it, perhaps someone will surprise me!

I was told when I signed up that they do not like to estimate times but people were reporting 14 years. Some said more. If it is really only one, I should be getting my call any day now. Too bad I do not have 38,500 lying around.

Someone who put in their name in Jan, 2013, was offered a membership last week. This is a little strange to me as I know someone who put their name in last July who has not received an invite.

Yup I would cry too!! Congrats My son and I did the Walk in Walts Footsteps tour and got to go in and see the lobby. My son saw the inside and said I want to eat here.....I had to explain to him how its not really possible....he was like you never know mom....oh to be innocent and full of dreams
