Club 33 Reservation?

Thanks for the advice everyone, Maybe Ill facebook it :)

I wouldn't recommend this exactly. ...if they are on facebook and you find out they have a membership, make friends with them for them, and not for their membership.

My read on PMGuernsey's comment was to reach out to existing friends via facebook, not to find someone on facebook to befriend. :goodvibes

I probably read it the wrong way due to knowing the number of times people send friend requests to a few friends who are members, and they get the "I would love to go to Club 33, I know how to behave..."

The idea of posting it as my status on face book "something like looking for access to club 33 for anniversary", and if any friends new what club 33 was and have or know how to get access then maybe they would respond. I scraped that idea anyways, because that would ruin the surprise. Ill probably just where my Mickey Mouse shirt around school more often, and see if any of the physicians notice, or have any contacts. :goodvibes

If you click the cog to the right of your FB post. Select "custom" you can then select who can see it, and who can't.

Thanks skiingfast, Ill look into that. :thumbsup2

All you have to do is click the cog that skiingfast mentioned and you can click "custom" and then type the names of anyone you DON'T want to see your post under "Hide this from."

Easypeasy.

I feel very fortunate to have experienced it one time. I could never afford to get in. I never knew anyone could get in period. It was in the 90's when I was invited so I went. I have my memories. I hope you can get in.

Add me to your club;). As an easterner i'm happy to have visited DL once and eagerly looking forward to celebrating ourupcoming anniversary waterside @ Blue Bayou, if I can snag a reservation next month:wizard:.

We got quite the kick out of finding 'the door' and can only imagine who has passed thru it over the years:goodvibes.

OP congrats & good luck in your quest.

I can relate to your dilemma about trying to get into Club 33. I've tried on the boards and FB for the last year. A contact I made on FB had potential but it failed. Good luck.

Gosh! Good Luck OP! I too would love to go to Club 33. This is a great thread I had no idea about how it all works. Maybe I'll try calling DL just for the heck of it and see if I can get on the waiting list. By the way how much is it??

Initiation is currently in the $9K range for a single person, with annual dues for this year being in the $7K range.

In 2008 the initiation was $10,500 and I don't believe they are going down; the 2011 dues for a gold membership (silver is no longer offered) were just under $3400 (corporate memberships are higher). I don't believe the 2012 dues notices have been sent out as of yet.

According to reports on various websites, as of 2011, there is a 14 year wait list and it is currently closed. Corporate membership is $27,500 with annual dues of $6,100. Individual membership is $10,000 with annual dues of $3,500.

You are right they haven't gone down. But I could have sworn, I had been told last year $7000 a year, but maybe I had asked about the corp annual fee.

...I have been on the wait list for about 7 years and have been told I probably have another 4-5 years before I reach the top of the list...
I hope your 5 year wait is accurate :wizard:
You joined the waitlist before the Disneyland 50th anniversary, so you are in good shape. It seems the 50th increased interest in Club 33 (along with some Disney magazine articles), which caused the waitlist to grow.

I've been on the waitlist for 5 years, but expect the wait to be measured in decades rather than years :rotfl:

What does a membership at Club 33 entitle one to?
Membership allow you and your guests to dine at Club 33. Minor features are valet parking at the Grand Californian and AP for members (guests receive park hoppers).

I've seen guests with Club 33 logo items in the reserved line for Candlelight, so I expect members get a few other special perks :thumbsup2

Members do enter a lottery-type system on June 1st for the possibility of being able to attend Candlelight Processional with guests and have dinner or brunch at the club the day of the performance for which they might be chosen. There is a special section for the members, but depending on when you arrive to wait for your seat, it may or may not be that "perfect" seat. On that day the member and their guests would enjoy brunch before the performance or dinner after it. You actually don't find out until approximately 30 days prior if you've been fit in; it can be quite nerve wracking, I'm told.

There are also special events during the year that members and guests are able to attend, usually winemaker dinners and things of that nature (and NOTHING is free!!!). I was fortunate to attend a dinner that featured some of the creative crew from the movie The Haunted Mansion ; our hostess actually won an autographed book of the costume designs from the designer; it really was a fun night. Somehow a few Club 33 shot glasses / toothpick holders made it home that night....don't quite remember how.........
