Club 33 Membership Experience

We had our first, and probably only, Club 33 dinner on Thursday night. It was something I longed for for years.

The idea was better than the reality. The food was great, but Victoria and Alberts is much better. And they have minimum food purchases equal to a one-day park ticket, per person. To top it off, there was a table there with four adults and FIVE screaming, misbehaving children, all under the age of five.

I'm glad I can say I did it, but I will never want to go back there again. Lot of hype, little reward.

I'm sorry you had a negative experience. Ours was the exact opposite. We loved the food (never eaten at V&A, never been to WDW, but I've eaten at many high end restaurants in my area and Club 33 outshone them all, from service to food), service was impeccable. All food is priced the same so there's not a "minimum food purchase", all entrees are 1 set price (price of a 1 day ticket, so we paid $91 I believe), well worth it in our opinion. It's unfortunate about the screaming kids, I believe that in a place like Club 33 if there are kids misbehaving the parents should be asked to remove them (if they aren't respectful enough to simply remove them without being asked). We had a large table next to us with 3 small kids, they were exceptionally well behaved and didn't make a fuss at all. :) That said, that's why I didn't see if I could make a reservation for our group of 11 that was just there, we would have had 3 kids 7 and under and while they are good kids (mine are 16 & 12 so they would have been fine) they can get a little "excited" and loud at times. lol :)

OP--wow I can't believe you really did a get a call.

15 years huh?

Thanks for the summary. It was fascinating to read. We were lucky enough to go a few years back and loved it. I would have bit the bullet and put in the $35K just to take the membership...that pesky annual membership fee though...that's the killer.

Imagine if you had put in on your credit card? That's a lot of airline miles :rotfl:

LOL that would have paid for a trip or two....LOL Free flights! ;) We actually have a credit card that we could have used to put that on, but we aren't using cards right now so we would have passed.....it would have been hard but we would have. :) I wonder how long the list is now.

I wonder how long the list is now.

Upon speaking with the club about membership just the other day, there is no longer a working waiting list. Those curious about membership can write to the club and more information will be elicted by the club from those seeking info.

Methinks it is currently about who's got the money to sign up! I'm just glad I'm still able to go!

Club 1901 is on the first level and Carthay Circle is on the second floor. Club 1901 is a fantastic lounge.

There are also Magic Paintings and "the ghost of Walt" walking around the restaurant. Very nice touches!

Loved getting to see it last week:
