Okay I normally Dont visit in the summer so I need opinions. Last time I was there for more than a day in the summer was 2001. Normally I wear jean shorts and t-shirts. Looking at pics from 2001 I have knit shorts and tank tops on, I'm trying to figure out why! I'm vaguely recalling I did it so if I got caught in a storm knit dries faster than jeans, but not sure. What does everyone suggest, should I go buy a few pair of knit shorts and tank tops or should I just go with jean shorts and t-shirts. Thanks

Jean shorts take a very long time to dry and there are lots of water rides at IOA.

Thanks damo, I figured there was a reason every pic from that trip has me wearing knit shorts! Wet Jean shorts are very unpleasant

I recommend moisture wicking clothing..They dry fast and stay cool.It is brutally hot in the summer .I can;t imagine wearing jean shorts in the heat and humidity and especially on the water rides .they take forever to dry and chafe on the skin when wet

Thanks! Now that I'm almost 36 I'm not as concerned about fashion over comfort. I rather be comfortable in the heat! Not sure my daughter is going to approve but hey what's the chances of seeing any of these people again

Why not normal cotton shorts? Knit sounds just as bad as jean to me.

Underneath, non cotton underwear, though. Nylon type, or wicking fabric. Cotton unders are chafey terrors when you've been on a ride where you got soaked.

I think they are cotton, they are hanes shorts.

My boys and dh are scouts, and I can't say enough about the convertible hiking pants. They wear them to all amusement parks now, as they are just so much more comfortable.

I was more pooh-sized both of the trips we've taken recently, and ended up in lightweight cotton capris - they were much, much better than jeans the week we were at IOA/USO last year. It rained most days, but I dried off pretty quickly.

If you plan to do water rides, I would go ahead and invest in 2 pr of wicking undies. You can wear one and wash one each night. Did this on our trip to Egypt several years ago when we knew we would have issues getting underwear washed at the hotels. They worked like a charm for drying quickly in order to be worn again.

Thanks! Luckily we are staying at a condo so I'll have a washer/dryer. I'll let you all know how I make out!
