I've read all of the clothing threads but now I'm more confused.
For girls, do I have to wear a button down shirt with a jacket to traditions? Or can I wear a nice blouse under my blazer? And is a blazer necessary for girls at Traditions?

Does training require business clothing or business casual?

And what kind of clothes does one wear to classes?

Thank you!

I am with you
I feel confused too
It says no khaki but do they mean the material or the color because I found some nice khaki material pants in non-khaki colors (green, pink, blue).

I was going to be wearing a dress for traditions but I thought for the training days it would be better to wear pants, am I wrong in my assumptions?

You don't have to wear a blazer/jacket, it's not required. Girls can wear a nice top/blouse/button-down with dress pants. I don't think that khakis (the material or color) are allowed, unless they are dress pants that are light brown. I'm not positive about that thought. Disney inspects your outfit/shoes before you are allowed in the classroom so make sure you stick to the guidelines!

As for training, once you get into your location area you will be wearing your costume. :thumbsup2

It depends on your department. In entertainment you are only allowed to wear pants when attending training, but you only dress up for 2 of your 5 days of training (the other days you're in costume).

hey! hope this helps:
-when I did my WDWCP 2006 program, I bought myself 2 nice suits w/ jackets, it was perfect one was a nice white suite(sounds funny but it was Florida-looking hehe wouldnt look good in PA!) I wore something very light underneath.. now I only brought open-toe shoes-they were NICE but unfortunately when I got down there they said no open-toes must be closed, so that evening of moving in I went out and bought a pair of shoes from the Florida Mall LOL :upsidedow
so yeah thats a big no no(to them) I dont see why it was a problem...

they WILL send you back to your apartment and have you come another day which will delay you with EVERYTHING for traditions if you arent looking the "disney look"

you would be fine with a nice dress shirt and dress pants and closed shoes, you really DONT need a blazer/jacket, but it was nice to have and I was there in the heat of May-June, it didnt bother me so much, I worse something light under-neath..

but you will get the "Disney looK" guideline book and def. follow it they are real keen about it, in fact when I was at Traditions there was 1 female and 1 male sent "home" for the day, and rescheduled because of their look... craaaazy i know!

She is completely right while I was standing out in the hall before being let in, they *DO* inspect you! As funny as that sounds, but like I said above thats why they sent the one female and male "home" not out of the program, just have to come back another day! :scared1:

That is so helpful, thanks! Is it necessary to wear socks with your shoes if you are wearing pants?

Does anyone have reference pictures of what they wore? Im hopeless when it comes to clothing. :lmao: :D

I would appreciate seeing some pictures too!
Seeing them would help me out a lot. I'm afraid I'll buy something that I think is okay only to find out that it is not Disney casual business.

Disney Look book says that khakis and Dockers are permitted as long as they are creased and appear to be professionally laundered.

I have found that a pair each of brown, black, gray, and navy pants got me nicely through my CP (I opted to "dress" for my classes rather than wear my hideous Chester and Hester's costume). I wore a blouse or a tank with a nice sweater or shrug most of the time. Land's End has some very nice no-iron dress shirts. FYI, for the ladies, if a shirt/blouse is designed with a straight hem, it does NOT have to be worn tucked in.

Ladies shoes must be fully closed OR open toe/closed heel, open heel/closed toe. Open toes must be PEEP, not full out toes. Sling backs are considered open heels, so no sling back peep toes. Hosiery/socks are not required when wearing pants, but IS a requirement in a dress/skirt.

Remember, NO capris (even trouser looking ones) and no shorts unless they are "business" and paired AT ALL TIMES with a blazer (can't get to a meeting and decide you're hot). Also, it says you can wear a "gaucho", but the ones it's referring to are 70s throwbacks, we used to call them a "split skirt". If you are standing in a gaucho, it should fall like a skirt and not be mistaken for a capri...you'd also have to wear hose with it, which seems like a wasted opportunity to me. ;)

This page has some nice examples of what they are looking for: http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X5.asp..._C=C9&ViewMore=True&CmCatId=50434|50452|53114

Its also not required to wear a button down blouse, they do permit plain smart taliored T-shirts as well (both my room mate and I wore them and had no problem. Just make sure you have sleeves. The safest bet though is to go wearing what you would wear for a formal interview .

would simple ballet flats work as shoes? i dont like wearing heels, and dont want to go out and buy shoes for traditions(i luckily found the perfect pants and shirt at kohls, and itll cost only about 25 all together. :D)

All of you with specific questions about specific shirts, shoes, etc, may be better off emailing disney so you have a definitive answer.

What is in the Disney Look book is straightforward for the most part, but I can see where there could be some confusing areas.

I think the email address for the Disney Look people is wdw.disney.look@disney.com. I'm not 100% certain on that. If anyone can confirm, please do. If it bounces, then just write to recruiting ( wdw.college.recruiting@disney.com ) and they will answer you or forward it on.
