My son doesnt like to wear a suit & a tie! Will he be ok @ dinner with a nice pair of kaikis and a nice long sleeve shirt? what about the captains dinner? & palo's? He is fighting the fact that we want him to get dress pants & a sports jacket. Thanks!

Khaki's and a long sleeve dress shirt should be fine for resort casual nights. That is what we wore during those dinners.

Palo's suggests a jacket for dinner on each night except formal night. On formal night the jacket is required at Palo.

Unless something has changed that I'm not aware of, that's not quite correct. All dress codes on the ships are SUGGESTED and not REQUIRED, even at Palo.

Vals, for most dinners as ThreeCircles said, resort casual is the rule...khakis and polo shirts. On formal and semi-formal night and at Palo jackets are suggested for men. A 20-year-old is considered an adult and on formal night especially would probably look out of place without at least a sport coat on.

The information that I posted was taken directly from the August 18th Personal Navigator.

It reads:

Palo, Deck 10, Aft
Suggested Dress: Jacket Required, no shorts or jeans.

Formal night is the only night that this is stated. The other nights state:

Palo, Deck 10, Aft
Suggested Dress: Jacket Recommended - no shorts or jeans.

Interesting, thanks for the info, ThreeCircles. That's the first I've heard of any time that Palo had a required dress code for a particular night.

It's interesting that it first says "Suggested". Would they turn someone away for not having a jacket?

Just curious.
