We are going Dec 6-14. I know FL can have crazy weather and the whole Easy Coast is supposed to have a really cold winter again. ( I live in VA) I will be thrilled 10 days out so I can track the weather. Those who live in FL or Disney Veterans who have been in Dec more than once what about was the average? We went to San Diego last year the week of Christmas and the weather was amazing. Cool in the am, perfect during the day. Jeans and tank top or shorts and a tee then at night it cooled down some too. Should I expect this too in FL in Dec? How many pairs of shoes should I pack for myself and my kids? I have a awful case of Plantars Fasciitis that is being treated now and I am getting custom inserts in my shoes. I plan on packing tennis shoes like workout ones, I dress casual and comfy when going to theme parks. Should I pack maybe my most comfortable pair of flip flops as well or sandals? I dont think I'll wear them all day in a park, same for kids? Comfy shoes and open shoes? We will have our winter coats when we get to airport so we'll just stick them in suitecase, than do you think just another zip up hoodie will be enough for chilly mornings and nights and if its super cold we will have our coats. Is there a chance it would be warm enough we'd need shorts?

Do not trust the weather forecast even the night before your trip!!!! I can not stress that enough. We made that mistake our first December trip. The forecast from multiple sources said the highs would be between 70 and 72 degrees the entire week. We got there and it was right the first day and after that there was a heat wave and it was between 85 and 90 degrees every day. We were sweating in our jeans and had not brought shorts. There is absolutely a chance it will be warm enough for shorts day and night. Most trips we have had at least one 80 or more degree shorts day.

We went every December for several years. Pack to be prepared for anything. The weather forecast can change very fast down there. More than one time we have started off the week and shorts and t-shirts day and night, and ended the week in coats and gloves, or vice versa. It can range between 30 degrees (for a low) to 95 degrees (for a high) in December. We have been there at both ends, sometimes in the same week. Expect the unexpected. Again, don't trust the forecast! Be ready for anything!

As far as shoes, everyone should have at least 2 pairs so you can alternate. That will keep them from rubbing the same spots, and also if you get a pair wet from a rainy day (done that) or water ride, you will want a dry pair the next day. I'm a fan of Bernie Mev shoes myself. Once I started wearing them, they became the only thing I wore to the parks. A few hours pre trip to break them in, and I am set for a day of walking open to close without my feet being tired. That was unheard of before I found those shoes. They don't weigh down my suitcase either. I usually take a combo of closed and open toed styles. There have been times I have worn open toed in December, but other days I definitely needed close toed because it was cold! Another tip if blisters are a concern. There is a product called body glide that I learned about on the DIS. I am very blister prone and used to always get blisters at Disney. Now I rub Body Glide all over my feet in the morning at WDW, and since I started doing that several years ago, I have not had one blister. It works for DD and DH too.

Have fun! I love WDW during the Christmas season!!!

Pack for hot weather and cold weather. It has been very cold one day and shorts weather the next. It is just how it is down here. I live in northwest Florida.

As for shoes, pack at least 2-3 pairs of shoes for each of you. And don't wear the same shoe 2 days in a row. One of my park bag essentials is the peppermint foot spray from The Body Shop. I spray everyone's legs when they start getting tired/sore. It helps.

I would definitely bring a lightweight jacket for mornings/evenings. Here I only really use my hoodies. If it is so cold that I need a winter jacket, I just stay home.

We're going December 13-20th. Regardless of the forecast, I'll be packing a couple pairs of shorts, a couple of pants/jeans, a couple of hoodies, and then a bunch of t-shirts per person. We'll have our winter coats with us since we're coming from a cold climate, so we'll have them just in case. We're staying in a one bedroom villa so we can do laundry, but December weather in Florida is unpredictable. You really need to be prepared for anything, unfortunately.

Thanks everyone! Were in a one bedroom villa too so we can do laundry! I'll make sure to pack everything!!!

I pack in 2's for that time of year. 2 shorts, 2 capris, 2 jeans. 2 long sleeve, 2 short sleeve, 2 tanks. Then I usually bring 1 sneaker, 1 flops, 1 boots. We also fly from the Northeast, so we usually wear our heaviest items on the plane, including coats. I always pack gloves and hats/ear protection. We also stay in a villa so can do laundry.

You just have to get over having to wear a different outfit everyday. Some trips we wear the same few items over and over. Some trips we wear every single item over the week because the weather is all over the place. We wear tons of layers. We have been there for a week with 20-85 temps in one week. You just never know. We just don't have a lot of variety on our winter trips but do get pretty creative with layering styles.

We also bring a couple of pairs of shorts/pants, fleece jackets and hoodies, and I throw in gloves and hats just in case. We bring two pairs of tennis shoes, crocs, and maybe our keen sandals too. One year it was 75 one day and 50 the next!
