Does anyone still wear - I think they used to call them "wind suits" - they have a sipped jacket and pants made out of a kind of slick windbreaker material? I have a couple and they are so comfortable and don't show wrinkles. Would I be really out of style wearing this on the airplane?

not sure if this is out of style or not but totally comfy. I have a few of these type outfits that I walk in....whenever we fly I find which is the most appropriate for the weather and I'm done. If it gets cool on the plane i have a jacket or i can take it off if i get too warm.

One thing you'll want to check since you're coming from Ohio is if they are going to feed you on the flight. A lot of airlines have reduce food service to a bag of peanuts/pretzels/crackers and a can of soda. We usually bring along sandwichs & chips and a bag of snacks (carrots/fruit), even a bottle of water for each of us.

Something to consider.........that type of outfit may be comfortable, but in case of emergency it would be the wrong type of material to wear.

I wear jeans, t-shirt and have a jacket because it seems that the A/C is always blasting in the waiting area and on the plane.

In a "worst case" scenario.....you want clothing that is not a melting hazard.

We just got back from a very long flight to and from Kansai Airport in Japan. Husband swear by "swishies" (the pants youa re talking about) and wears them on the plane. I wore comfortable athletic pants and lightweight long-sleeved shirt, as planes tend to be cool inside. They will give you a blanket if you request. I found sandals or shoes that slip on and off easily work great for the searches made at security!
