We have a Rowenta as well!
When my DW and I were making our wedding registry, I had to 'fight' her tooth and nail to get a garment steamer.
She said she would never use it - I said... I use mine every morning! (I had a small handheld one)
DW told her mother about the discussion, and she said... you can just have ours - I never us it!
Well, we took it - and guess what....?! DW uses a steamer every morning now - we have been married 6 years and have been through three steamers - I think it was because we weren't using distilled water, and the calcium scale was burning up the heating element - our current one... the Rowenta was been the best so far - I would definitely suggest buying one!
Here are some helpful hints for the best results...
-Steam from INSIDE the garment - it works so much better!
-ONLY use distilled water!
-Keep a towel close by to dry off the head of the steamer every so often so your garment doesn't get soaked from the steam condensing on the head.
-If you don't want to use the fold out hanger that is built in - buy an over the door hanger, and buy two high quality hangers (one for shirts, one with clips for pants, skirts etc)
There is a slight learning curve...but after a week, you'll have it down like a pro!
