Closing Time on a resale?

I am so impatient! We received our closing documents on September 5. I transferred the money from our online bank to our B&M bank and sent the cashier's check with the payment on September 9. The closing company received it on the 10th. I got an e-mail on the 11th saying that everything is in order and they are just waiting for the seller to get their documents submitted.

How much time after the seller submits their docs is required for closing?:confused3 I am nervous because I don't know if it is the seller dragging their feet or the actual closing takes several weeks.:scared: I am just SOOOO anxious because we are leaving in about 5 weeks to go to the AKV for our first trip home! It is a rented reservation, but I would REALLY like to be in the system by then. This waiting is killing me! I want to e-mail the closing company for an update, but I don't want to be a pest.

Who has done a resale lately? Any hints, help or just a plain ol' "CALM DOWN" will be appreciated!:laughing:
 
Right now - it's just a waiting game - I've heard stories of buyers waiting weeks for the seller to get their closing paperwork sent in. I was very lucky - both the seller & I were very anxious to get the closing completed. We both FedEx'd our documents and the closing happened in just a matter of days. I would call the closing company to to check to see if they've heard from your seller.

We wired our money on a Friday and got email the following Wed. we were closed. It could be your seller is slow to send their docs. We used **********.com and it seems everyone here using them is processed really fast. I think they notify immediately when ROFR is waived and when closing docs are ready to be sent to the buyer. Perhaps other companies sit on them a few days. GMAC customers seem to have much longer waits at each step. What company did you use?

You're resale agent/broker should also inquire on your behalf and maybe help give things a push if in fact the seller is taking the scenic route :drive: sending back their documents.

Short of something really out of the ordinary happening ( or not happening ) I would say you will definitely be in the system before your trip ::yes::

Thanks! I was thinking of that, but I didn't know what role the broker played once the closing company was involved. I e-mailed the closing company a few minutes ago and I will let our broker know too.

We closed on 9/10 and did not get into the system until today. We have a member number but our points are not loaded into the system, so STILL cannot make reservation. They answered "Welcome home"--gotta love it--and told me to call tomorrow.
The number is 1-800-******** then push 1 and 1 again.

Your Broker should email you your MS contact information.

Nope! Our papers were submitted for ROFR on Aug 22 and we found out that we passed on August 30th! Apparently, Disney has been waiving on ROFR's very quickly right now. But, that was before BLT went on sale. They might be a little behind right now!
