Closing Frustration

The good news is that the DH and I are FINALLY sending off our check today to purchase at VWL---we would've LOVED to have gotten it off earlier, we've had the contract about two weeks, but due to TTS and the closing company (Timeshare Title and More) crossing wires, our paperwork on the SSR shares that we sold the first of September has YET to close and so we had to go out and find the additional $$ to pay for our VWL (that passed ROFR SEVERAL weeks after the SSR contract-but was closed by The Timeshare Closing Service (CAN'T say enough good stuff about them--talk about being on the ball!) while we wait on our SSR $$--very frustrating :rolleyes1

WARNING--if you use TTS, while we think they are AWESOME, The Timeshare Title and More Closing Services stink! To add the frosting to an already overcooked cake, they are RUDE! :snooty:

I'll stop complaining, we were blessed to get the Villas :cheer2: and while the closing has been a hassle on the SSR (piece of cake on the VWL--easier still, even though we had to get 12k from a different source) hopefully, it'll be over soon and we can put all of this behind us---so looking forward to our first trip home as VWL owners :cool1: :cool1:
 
I agree with you completely! I am trying to close on a small OKW contract that started 9/1. Just got my closing docs 10/5 from Timeshare Title & More. Communication is not their strong suit. The only infomation I can get is by me calling and prying it from them. Good luck to both of us!! :confused3

I am sorry that you are having the same difficulty with this closing company as us! It's so frustrating, and this should be a HAPPY TIME for you. Hang in there---maybe it will all be over soon!

Since we are eager to get in to the DVC system as VWL owners, I am ever so thankful that Timeshare Title and More DID NOT get that contract to close!!! It's bad enough waiting on our funds from the sale, if we were waiting on both....it would be AWFUL!

Our transaction was handled through Timeshare Closing Services and we had a great experieince with them.

I have a question about your post. I'm a little confused. Why are there two different closing companies involved? Did you use two different resale companies? Or are both transactions through TSS? I guess I thought that they would use the same closing company for all their transactions.

We used TTS for both the sale and purchase---I don't know why there were two closing companies involved.

Our purchase was handled through Timeshare Closing Services, we passed ROFR for this purchase on 9/19, we had our closing docs the NEXT WEEK. They have moved quickly and have been great to work with.

Our SSR sale was handled through Timeshare Title and More---Disney passed ROFR on this property on 09/05. We also thought that TTS used one closing company and couldn't understand why we had received the closing docs on the purchase (that passed ROFR 3 wks AFTER the sale) Ms. Kirsch at Timeshare Closing Services was kind enough to do the research and found out where our sale was being closed....from there, I called them and they told me that TTS sent our documentation to the wrong place, so that delayed our closing, then I called last week to find out what was happening and they told me that they were waiting on Disney to give them the final $$ amt needed to close our SSR contract out! Long story short, we had to get a 30 day loan to pay for our purchase of VWL, because we didn't want the seller of that property waiting on their funds any longer than necessary. I really feel sorry for the buyer, especially if they were hoping to get in to a spot at WDW any time soon!

I have a much better understanding of the posts saying how fast their closing went and how quickly they got in to the DVC System, and why some folks have a terrible time getting through this process---guess we're lucky, at least we had a means to complete our purchase, however it will cost us a little interest, which stinks---Nancy, at Timeshare Title and More was even rude when I asked that they FedEx our proceeds check---she was VERY, VERY quick to point out that the FedEx cost would be taken from our proceeds---as if I expected anything less! Ugh! If we ever add on, I will use the TTS, provided they can give us 100% assurance that our purchase WILL NOT be assigned to this closing company---never again!!!
 
I am in the process of closing on my sale of some points and so far the closing company has been great. As a matter of fact if they had NOT sent me the closing documents I would NEVER have known the contract passed ROFR. Neither Disney or the TSS told me!
 
In a transaction, the person paying the closing costs can select the title company. For some reason, I don't know why, the purchaser insisted we use Timeshare Title and More. This is a case of the purchaser NOT listening to the broker, TTS. I regret that your closing has not been a smooth one but we can only do so much. We will certainly relay the problems to the next customer who wishes to use them.

Thank you for your response. We were not aware that as the buyer you could choose your closer, thank goodness we wound up closing on our purchase with Timeshare Closing. They are top notch!

By all means, please feel free to pass along my comments to whomever may be interested. I think there was another buyer on this thread that wound up with Timeshare Title and More who is having the same issues as us----

Also, I am very pleased as I've stated in all my posts with the TTS and would certainly use your services in the future.
