Closing costs - direct?

Hi all — I was curious if anyone could speak to the closing costs or other fees that are charged in a direct point purchase from Disney? I’m wondering how different the numbers are from buying resale (which we just did). Thanks!

I think it depends on the resort location: CA, HI, SC, FL?

Mostly curious about Florida — I feel like a read something along the lines of just a couple hundred vs. $500+ on resale… making small contracts potentially attractive with direct vs. resale — depending on the resort, of course!

I don't remember the exact numbers however we purchased 30 BC points @ 225 in 2018 and the final cost was 7180

Costs are pretty close to the same as resale for a similar amount of points. My costs in 2019 for RIV 175 points was around $600.

Best part of buying Direct is having the points within hours of the purchase - before the final docs are even signed

We are buying a small contract via resale and it has been a great experience so far with DVC Resale Market — just waiting for closing docs. Went cash for this small/loaded 30pt contract to see what it’s all about. I have a Disney visa though so direct perks are tempting as I’m already thinking about buying more!

I was just wondering about this! I got a call from my guide asking if I was interested in adding on and taking advantage of getting 2021 points and 2022 points (Feb UY). I wasn't thinking of adding on, mainly because I'm waiting for the Disneyland project to get further along and see if I could possibly afford points there.

But ever since that phone call, I've been like, "25 more points at WDW would be nice too..." LOL.
