Here's an odd occurance that I do not recall seeing on these boards: our closet doors would jam on the clothes hangers. This happened every time we opened or closed one of the doors. The closet is shallow and the hangers were fairly large, hitting both the front and back of the closet unless hanging at an angle (not perfectly perpendicular).

We perfected a type of dance where we would start to open the closet door and at first resistance, snake an arm through the opening to push the hangers out of the way. A similar dance would successfully close the door.

So, were we the only lucky ones?

We were in a Cat 3. Obviously the walk-in in the bedroom didn't have this problem, but we also had the closet in the hall with sliding doors on it. DS kept his clothes there. There wasn't a problem with the doors hitting the hangers that I can recall, alhtough at one point one ot the life jackets had fallen over and got jammed, and DH looked like a pretzel trying to reach in to move it while pulling the door towards him LOL!

You were not the only "lucky" ones. We have sailed 7 times on DCL and had the problem each time. The last few cruises I didnn't even bother to use DCL hangers but brought my own plastic coated wire ones that I picked up at Wal-mart for $.88 for a pack of 10 or 12.

I actually pack all mine and hubby's shirts right on the hangers in the suitcase. Then, all I have to do is pull them out the suitcase and hang 'em up!!! I usually hang a beach towel in front of the DCL hangers to keep them from moving.

I bring wire hangers from homewith the clothes on them, too. It's so very easy to unpack! I like the tip about the towel. The constant clanging around of the wooden hangers on each other and the wall is annoying when there isn't anything on them. Or, next time, I'm going to remove them and put them on top with the life jackets or in a drawer and put them back when we leave.

DH and I had a cat. 6 room on our 1/18 Magic cruise and had no problems with the hangers in the closet. I did notice there were more of them this time, than our first cruise. We used every one of them. :)

We also have had the problem in the Cat. 6 rooms on previous cruises. The wire hangers I brought were from the dry cleaners and they worked ok but they still rubbed a little but not as much as the wooden hangers. I too like the beach towel tip! Kathy
