What are he closest TS restaurants to ASMu?

My BIL will be staying at an ASMu Suite in December & they will be traveling with little ones (DD3 & DD1) who have never traveled farther than a 2 hour car ride. Since there are no TS restaurants in the Values, where is their closest bus ride to TS options?

Preferably non-park options, since I have already helped them with those and they only have 2 day base tickets.

Thanks!

Well for a non-park option, the quickest would be to eat at somewhere at Downtown Disney. There are resort restaurants closer, but if they dont have a car, theyd have to transfer buses to get to another resort. Downtown Disney has several options. My favorite is Rainforest Cafe, though its not on the dining plan if that matters.

Thank you! They are on the DDP. Is DTD hectic for trecking around kids that young? They will be there 10 days before Christmas.

What is the closest park to AsMu?

The closest park to the All Stars is AK, followed by HS, then Epcot, with MK being the farthest.

Dining plan restaurants at DD include Planet Hollywood and Cap'n Jacks. I know there are more but I cant think of them right now. If they have a stroller they will be fine, we've travelled to Disney world with an infant/toddler 2 years in a row now (this trip he is finally a Preschooler!) and we always go to Downtown Disney at least a couple times during our trip. Just tell them to make sure they check the DD map to see where the restaurant they chose is located because there are 2 Downtown Disney busstops.

I think what you should be asking is whats the easiest TS to get to from AsMu. Closest is not always easiest particularly if you are talking about getting to another resort. Also its not usually the time on the bus but getting to and/or waiting for the bus.

I have to ask what else are they doing that day?

If they are just hanging out at the resort, I think the easiest is to bus to MK and then take the monorail to any monorail resort. They only have to fold up the stroller once and they get the bonus of touring the resorts and seeing the holiday decorations.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is the closest resort with a TS (in fact, betwen AKL and AKV there are three TS restaurants). But you can't get there by bus from the All Stars. You would have to go to a park first (AK is closest...but it closes early, so watch the time if they want dinner) and switch buses.

If they don't want a restaurant at a park, they will have to switch transportation somewhere, as there are no direct buses between resorts, unless they go to Downtown Disney. And Downtown Disney is not close to the All-Stars. Not only that, but going to and from DTD will require multiple bus stops, especially if Typhoon Lagoon is open.

Rainforest Cafe at AK would be the closest bet. It would require only one bus ride and it is not inside the park gates. But, as noted, they don't accept DDP.

Sorry, but there are no really fast options for TS outside the parks that don't require transferring on Disney transportation, unless they have a car.

They could always take a bus to a park then transfer to a resort that has TS. Closest would be taking a bus to AK then taking a bus to AKL.

Hope it works out for them and they have a nice vacation.

:)

This would be a just hanging out at the resort day. They likely would not mind taking the bus to MK and hopping on the monorail to the resorts for dinner & checking out the Christmas decorations. :)

No interest in RFC-they live near several & my BIL & SIL cannot tolerate the noise of that place. I'm guessing the noise of the animal sounds might also bother my DN1. They do fine with crowd noise (they live in a city), but not constant animatronic noise. They may like Boma thought & I know that AKL is a quite ride from DAK so I may suggest that too. I know my DN3 will like to see the animals at AKL. Thanks!

I like both ideas of taking the bus to MK and then a monorail ride to the connected resorts. They could have a fun princess dinner at 1900 Park Faire(yum), Yummy food at O'hanna or Kona cafe, or even a character dinner at the infamous Chef Mickeys!

And the idea to go to DTD. Great way to check out the shops Lego is really cool, and two of our favourite restaurants are there, Raglan Road and Wolfgang Puck Cafe......both excellent and on the dining plan,

Good luck to them.....lots of great options to decide from:goodvibes

I think DTD is a bad idea with little ones. DTD and ASMu are at opposite ends of Buena Vista Drive - pretty far. There's not many restaurants that are "kid" themed, more "nice" restaurants.

Are they willing to take a taxi? The Epcot Resort area would have some restaurants that are buffets, Cape May and Captain's Grille, and there's something to see and do before and after dinner. You can see the fireworks from Illuminations by walking up the walkway from Beach Club, from the boardwalk area or the bridge in front of Swan/Dolphin.

We have 2 little girls ages 2 and 3, we are about to head back to Disney in a few weeks and we will certainly be heading to DTD. We went when they were 4 mos and 22 mos and last year when they were 1 1/2 and almost 3. DTD is a lot of fun and has great shops and a lot of places to eat.
