Closest Target or grocery store to AKV?

We normally go to Target or Super Walmart (hate Walmart though!) in Kissimmee down SR535, or, Hess, Publix or Winn-Dixie for a few groceries or baby supplies. I thought I remembered reading on here that a new Target was opening a few minutes from AKV, is this true?

Can anyone tell me what the closest store with groceries is to AKV?

Not sure about a new Target, but this Publix is quite close to AKL, especially when taking the Sherberth Road route:

You can almost see Kidani from that Publix. As you leave AKL, take the first right onto Sherberth Road. That will take you past the Disney Audition Center out to 291. Take a right and go about 2 miles - you'll be able to see the AKL/Kidani complex - the Publix will be on the right juse past the resort.

As the crow flies, it's probably a little over 1/4 mile from Kidani to that Publix. Driving, it's about 3 miles.

I was just going to ask the same question! What is the closest Wal-Mart? Also, how are the prices at Publix compared to Wal-Mart? (never been to one). Thanks!!

I can't make direct comparisons, but prices are close to being on par with Walmart. Maybe certain items may be 25 cents more here or there. But everything you would need is available at the Publix, and they have things you won't get at Walmart like sushi. The Publix fried chicken rocks!

Publix is a lot closer. You'll burn an extra dollar in gas each way to Walmart and sit in traffic on the way. Additionally Walmart does not have as much selection as Publix, IMO.

That's where I'd go too.

I *think* the closest WalMart is the one on 27, a half mile or mile north of the 27/192 interchange. Having been to both, I wouldn't bother going all the way to Wal-M.

yeah, if you go the sherberth road exit, the cagun crossings walmart (27 & 192) would be closest walmart to akl. Publix is closest, it looks like target is getting close to opening.
