DS house sitting for our upcoming trip end of August. All he's requested is a tshirt or jersey of the Ducks or Kings.

Flying thru SNA. Don't seem to recall any sports themed stores there

Will be on harbor, no car. Any suggestions on where I could grab a decent shirt one nearby? Ubering is fine

The cynic in me makes me think to buy online lol

There is for sure a Ducks themed bar in SNA, but no merch at the bar that I can recall. There may be merch in a giftshop for the Ducks even if it's not a sports-themed store, but I can't say for sure. (Unlikely to find Kings merch at SNA though.)

I would recommend looking at Walmart or Target nearby. Both stores often carry merchandise for local teams if you're in a city with major pro sports. And it would be more affordable than going to a sports themed store at a mall. The Target is on Harbor (also a good place to get cheap Disney themed stuff), and there is a Walmart a couple miles away on Euclid, so a short Uber ride.

(I don't think there is a Dick's Sporting Goods super close, but I may be wrong on that. I'm not a local, so any locals here that want to correct me, please feel free!)

The official Ducks team store is at Honda Center - I think it's open every day except Sunday. (Would be a pretty quick Uber away.)
I would second that…NHL is the most protective of their merchandising amongst all sports leagues (Rangers/Avs fan here). You really won’t find random stores with their merch. The store at the arena is your best bet.

Online, it’s Fanatics or Lids, which is an offshoot of Fanatics, sometimes a bit cheaper.
You won’t see a lot of variety of stuff, mostly sweaters (jerseys) or t-shirts.

Honda Center (used to be ThePond) is just a short ride down Katella, if I recall, just past the freeway.

I'm gonna have to disagree with that about the NHL being protective, as a Vegas Golden Knights fan in Vegas. Many many many stores have Golden Knights merch here, including Target, Walmart, Kohl's, and so on. I wasn't familiar as to whether the Honda Center store is open during the off-season which is why I didn't mention it. (And if its anything like the team store in Vegas, it will have great merch, but cost significantly higher than what we can find at regular retail shops.)

That said, the Ducks are currently... not good. So the demand for their merch may not be as high as it is for VGK.

Price was definitely something I was thinking of - you're right about that. They might possibly have some clearance stuff - I can't remember (it's been a minute since I've been in there).

One upside of the Team Store - they recently announced next season's merch, which is an alternate version of the Disney duck logo, so they might have something interesting that might not be commonly available.

One random thought - sometimes drug stores have this kind of thing. I'm more than likely going to be at the Walgreen's and CVS on Katella this week - if I have a chance, I'll see if they've got something that might be okay.

Yes, I’ve been hearing about it a while, old school. He has the original jersey design.

Will look up hours for the gift shop @ Honda center.

no excuse for taste lol he was raised a Pens fan.

Well, I was just speaking from my own experience…while WM, Target, sometimes even the local Kroger store will have Broncos and Rockies stuff…they never have Avalanche merch. Dick’s may have the more popular player sweaters. But this stuff is usually not of quality and it’s still not cheap. I can buy a $5 Rockies t-shirt on the street corner. 🤣. But who would want to?

I glad you are able to find your VGK stuff locally!

There's a Pure Hockey right off the I-5 NB Katella exit. They usually carry merchandise of local NHL teams in their stores so they might not carry any Ducks merch.

Couldn't you just buy this stuff online?

Sometimes people get hung up on the novelty of wanting a souvenir directly from the place. I live in Las Vegas and I see it all the time when people come out. Their housesitter/dogsitter/best-friend/co-worker is like, "Get me a ____________ from Vegas!" and most of the time it's somethng they could buy themselves, and yet, they want it FROM Vegas. (The last time it was my cousin who was visiting and a friend from where she lives wanted a Raiders shirt. A thing you can order online, but he wanted it FROM Vegas, soooo.)
