Closest Rental spot in Disney

Hey all;

I am looking for the closest spot to POR to rent a car. I think it is in Downtown Disney but am unsure as to where.
Help please!!!

Downtown Disney Hotels have car rental desks. Go to Rental Car Discounts at Mousesavers.com, to see which agency is at which hotel.

Also, Alamo, the official car rental place at Disney, has locations at the Car Care Centre near MK (a shuttle can be arranged to pick you up from your Disney resort), the Dolphin Hotel in the BW area, as well as Wyndham Palace hotel at Downtown Disney.

Dollar Car Rental is in the Grosvenor Resort Hotel and Budget is located in the Doubletree Hotel on Hotel Plaza Boulevard just outside Downtown Disney

I've used Budget in DD many times. Great staff and they will pick you and drop you off from your hotel.

Just rented from Alamo.... good price.... Midsize Car for $43.75 Cdn txs in ... not too shabby!

How long are you staying on site and what kind of tickets do you have?

I'm glad we didn't rent a car when staying on site and going to the parks every day.

Check your car rental rate occasionally, they go down.

We are staying for 2 weeks, so we have a couple of days with no pass into parks, we are going shopping one day, that's all we can spare away for the fun!

I have used both Alamo and Budget. Woudl prob choose Alamo since they have lots of fast Shuttles, but I got great service from Budget and am using them again for our upcoming cruise. (Alamo does not have a drop off at Port)

Only issue with Budget is they only have one shuttle, so if it is out you need to wait.

We got a smoking deal from priceline.com. You name your own price.

For our August 07 trip, we paid US$14 a day for a "Compact" with pickup at the airport. Used my plat card and didn't have to buy insurance. I think our 6 day rental came out to $125 total. The best thing is that we got a larger car for free. There's a lot of varying cars in the "Compact" aisle and we ended up getting a Chevy HHR (think PT Cruiser).
