Closest commercial airport to VB

Is it West Palm Beach or MCO? Or is there another one closer....?

Do any smaller airlines/planes fly from MCO to an airport close to VB?

WPB is a little closer but it doesn't make that big a difference. Melbourne is the closest airport but you'll have to check on flights from where you live and also the cost difference. I think that there may be flights that go from Orlando to Melbourne but if you have to change planes you can probably drive there faster. Vero has an airport but it is for private planes only.

Thanks PamOKW, I remember seeing something about Melbourne International Airport - I assumed it was Australia that was being referred to and not "locally"

DW and I flew into PBI (Palm Beach International Airport) with our DS's (3 & 5) and when we went to VB this past May and LOVED IT! Below are the reasons.........

Less "hustle and bustle" than MCO....
Closer to VB than MCO....
If I'm not mistaken, the flight to PBI was the same price as MCO but..... the further you fly, the more frequent flyer miles you get.
Also, I like "trying out" different airports, and we had not ever used PBI before.
Last but not least....our DS's haven't been (yet) to WDW and I want my children to get used to "experiencing" MCO when we go to WDW (1st trip to VWL is just over 1 month away!)

One down side.......... the employees at the Alamo (Car Rental) facility didn't have the faintest idea as to the location of DVC-VB and could only get us as far as the city of Vero Beach. My fault though..... when we went to DVC-HH in 2002 I brought a detailed map (from Yahoo!) on how to get there, so I should have known better.
Sorry if this is more info than you need, but we just truly enjoyed the whole trip (except the part of the extreme sunburn I got!)

Melbourne, Florida, has a nice airport, we have used it on cruise only trip and Vero trip. There is a shuttle service and at the time it was only $10.00 per person from MLB to Port Canaveral, one way with a group of 6.
