Anyone know which condos are closest to universal? I see Vista Cay and Isles at Cay Commons, but they seem to be 2 or 3 bedrooms. Any ideas?

With exception of Vista Cay no short term rentals in the Universal area. Certainly no large villa resorts. I would suggest renting in a community very close to the I4 and you can just drive up there quickly.

Any suggestion as to which communities are closest to I-4? We may just end up doing hotel rooms in that area if we can't find something fairly close. I-4 is a mess all day long it seems.

Looks like 3 bedrooms are the max there too. We could do 3 rooms at a hotel because there are 2 beds in each room, but villas don't usually have that. There will be 7 of us, three couples, one single adult and three teenage kids. We'd rather have a kitchen of course.

I know the two bedroom villas has 2 beds in the second bedroom. That might be the same for the 3 bedrooms and then the pull out sofa. Should give you the same amount of sleeping space and then the kitchen. I agree with the I4 traffic if you are spending most of your time at universal you really dont want to stay down by Disney

I'd recommend Emerald Island (2.5 miles from I-4 :drive:):

And Windsor Hills (2 miles from I-4 :drive:):

Both of these are in Kissimmee but are close to the I-4 making an easy journey to Universal. They are probably the two most popular off-site Orlando resorts you'll find a broad range of 4-5 bed villas. Worth noting there are the two closest resorts to Disney hence their popularity. If you need further info PM me. Cheers. Dave

Honestly, the drive from Wyndham Bonnet Creek (up to 4BR/4BA) isn't bad at all if you take Palm Parkway - turns into Turkey Lake Road and comes out right at Universal. It basically runs parallel to I-4 for the most part without the traffic. We've been there at different times of the year and never had a problem with traffic (can only speak for our experience, of course).
