Closeness to Resorts ?

Hi Everyone !

I was just wondering if someone could take a second to help me with a little question. I am right now planning another trip to WDW next August, and I'm trying to choose between moderates, and I was just wondering if someone could please tell me which park each of the following resorts is closest to; CB, POR & POFQ (we stayed CS last time and would like to try something new this time :]).

I wouldn't chose between these resorts based on closeness. While CBR might be closer to Epcot, I don't think the bus from POR/POFQ will take you any longer to get there than the one from CBR. Going to MK & AK they are about the same. Going to the Studio you might save a few minutes from CBR.

The Port Orleans resorts are in the Downtown Disney area. They each have boat rides to DTD which are fabulous! To me, this perk gives these resorts the edge!

The Port Orleans resorts are right next to each other - and bus and boats generally stop at both resorts en route to all the other destinations. So, they are basically the same distance from everything. In terms of general location, they are closer to DTD than a park, and they offer boats to DTD. Like a previous poster, I love the boat to DTD. It's a lovely bonus.

CBR looks to be closer to Epcot and MGM per the maps, but given the layout of Disney roads, I don't know that the timing to arrive is all that different. My UG guidebook indicates that trips to Epcot and MK are faster from PO by a few minutes and trips to MGM are faster from CBR (by a minute). You cannot walk to any park from these resorts, so, in that regard, being closer to a park makes little difference.

Theme Parks Closest to Port Orleans French Quarter/Port Orleans Riverside/Caribbean Beach:

The Caribbean Beach resort is closest to EPCOT and MGM, bus transportation is needed.

The Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside are sister resorts and are closest to EPCOT and Downtown Disney; actually a ferryboat ride away from Downtown Disney.

We just got back from CBR (Barbados), and it took no more than 15 minutes tops from our bus stop to MK. We were the last stop at the resort before the park...but also the last on the way back.
