Would closed toe sandals (e.g. Keens) be ok for zip lining?

My girls will also have their sneakers. I'm trying to minimize the amount of shoes DH & I need to bring!

that is a good question. I know when we went out on segways it was a very laid back operation but they were pretty strict on the shoe rule. I would contact the company you are thinking of using and ask directly to be sure. What we do is wear our closed toe shoes (sneakers) on the plane and then never put them on until the activity we are using them for and the plane ride back.

We did the zip lining at Climbworks about 3 weeks ago and LOVED it!! My daughters are 8 and 10, and my very fit mid-70s parents did it with us! We wore Keens and they worked out very well. They are easy to clean up if you get muddy, which we did a little (others who did Climbworks said they got super muddy since they went after some rain). Definitely minimize the shoes... They take up so much room!!! Have fun!!

Thanks! We are going to Climb Works with our girls who are 9 and 11, we're so excited! I was hoping to not pack sneakers for myself so that saves room for sure.

The other thing you could do is just grab some inexpensive closed toe shoes at Target or Walmart when you get to Hawaii

I bet they will be fine but why not just call and ask? I think they are mostly just worried about toes getting broken if they got caught on something or flip flops falling off

My girls and I wore Keens to Climbworks. My husband wore sneakers. Both worked fine! It only lightly rained once on us. So we didn't get muddy at all.
If you take your GoPro, make sure you bring the attachment pieces. I just assumed they had those on the helmets. So I had to hold mine on my wrist. If your girls ride tandem on a couple lines like mine did, make sure you ride next to them and get a video clip or photos. I will never forget their faces...so happy! I loved watching them laugh together. Our favorite activity on Oahu!!! You will have a blast!

You will love it -- we have done it twice. I recommend bringing a changing of clothes/shoes in the car esp for the kids. We have not had good luck with weather and got very wet and muddy. A change of clothes was a relief for the kids.
