Has anyone personalized their mugs so as not to get confused when you have a large group? If so how did you put names on them? Marker, Vinyl letters....etc.

This will be my first encounter with the new mugs and bands system. Just looking for ideas for personalizing the mugs. Thanks in advance for your ideas!!!

Recently I did a split stay:
Moderate resort / Visit Eldery Parent in Florida / Value Resort

Each time I purchased a refillable mug for my stay - the price was the same.

At the moderate resort: There was an array of different types of Hot (green & black) tea, lemons accessible, and multiple operational washing stations

At the value resort: There was only black tea and needed to ask (and wait) for lemon, in addition, there was only one operational washing station.

I understand if a moderate offers some elements that a value resort will not have (you pay for what you get) but the price of the refillable mug is the same.

Any insights?

The mugs are for use at all resorts no matter which resort you actually purchase it from, so there should not be a difference in price. Even under the old system (where mug use was supposed to be at only your own resort), the mugs were the same price everywhere. You either decide it is of value for the drinks offered in your location, or you pass on the mug. Not sure why only one wash station was available at your value resort. We have only had that happen at POP in the late hours of night when they were prepping to close. Typically there are 3 drink areas open at POP. May have just been a case of bad luck.

One popular and easy method is to swap lids so you have a different color combination for each person. Example:
Red lid/red handle
Red lid/yellow handle
Red lid/blue handle
Yellow lid/yellow handle
Yellow lid/red handle
Yellow lid/blue handle
Blue lid/blue handle
Blue lid/red handle
Blue lid/yellow handle
Four people? Have each pair swap lids. Five to nine people? Some version of the above. More than nine? Sharpee :)

I know the price is the same. I know it's optional.

That wasn't my issue. And I know it isn't a case of "Bad Luck"

It's that at value resorts the level of service, accessibility to drink condiments and hot tea selection were limited or unavailable, eventhough the price was the same.I asked about green tea at ASMo, and they told me they only had black tea (reg and decaf) while at CBR, I could pick up a tea bag and enjoy it without requesting it.

The bad luck I was referring to was about the single wash station, not the drink offerings. Different resort levels offer different items. The more you pay for your resort, the more you get. It isn't about the cost of the mug, it is about the cost of your resort that you are staying in. Again, since the mug can be used at all resorts no matter which one you purchase it at, there is no reason to pay a different price. Many people do split stays of varying resort levels in a single trip (and only need to purchase one mug for the duration). The only way to make it fair for everyone is to charge the same price. I'm not sure if you purchased the second mug without checking the offerings first, but if you did, you might want to check them next time to make sure it is worth it before buying. :goodvibes

I apologize if this has been answered already, but does anyone know if an old mug lid (say from a year ago non-RFID mug) would fit on these new mugs? Just trying to think of another way to customize our mugs (pink lid on purple handle mug, etc.)

Yes, older mug lids will fit . However, the really old resort specific wide mouth mug lids will not fit.

Totally agree there's discrepancy among the refill stations, especially the tea selection. It's not just Values versus Moderates. On our last trip, we had a split stay between BC and GF. The tea selection at BC was not readily available and was limited. At GF, they had an array of tea flavors, lemon, honey, stirrers just for tea, etc, just sitting out. Same price for the mugs!

Split stay (3 resorts). Will the cup just work at all of them based on the number of days purchased? So if I buy 12 days, it will work at all the resorts for 12 days?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, they typically code the "length of stay" mug for two weeks without you specifying the number of days needed. It will work at all resorts, even the ones you do not stay at.

I have just read the information, included in the link above, about the new refillable mug.

Let me see if I have this straight. I am not a soda drinker. I normally drink hot tea. Yes, even in hot weather. I can purchase the mug by paying the one day price, and then the mug will be available for me to get "Hot Water" at all of the resort locations. I will have a nice souvenir, and I will be able to have my tea. I plan on packing my own tea bags. Sugar, and creamer are always readily available.

I like the look of the mug, and it looks lightweight enough to put in my backpack for use in the themeparks for drinking water at drinking fountains.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct.

Thanks for the reply. I will be packing my favorite brand of tea, and I always love coming home from Disney World with at least one souvenir.
