Hi all,

I'm planning a trip to the World the 2nd week of December. I'm wondering how the crowds are, first. Second, we've rented a DVC at OKW...what can I expect as far as benefits go if I'm not a true DVC member? Third, what's NOT to be missed during this time of year? We're planning on MVMCP, but what else can we do to maximize and enhance our Christmas stay? We've got 2 daughters, 13 & 11 by then. We've been to the World 6 times, 4 with them. Just looking for tips to help make this trip more special than our past ones! Each time we've gone, there's been countless magical moments, as you'v all experienced, I'm sure!

Thanks,
:wave2:

The crowds shouldn't be too bad. MVMCP is always pretty busy but very worth it! I would say one you would want to tour the resorts during this time of the year. The holiday decor is amazing! Especially at WL and GF! It's a great time of the year to go!

Enjoy!

Last year we went from Dec 12-19 and had a great time. You are going to want to take a ton of pictures, so plan on that. We went to several resorts and they all were very nicely decorated.
We are going back during Dec, too, and I can't wait. Everything was so beautiful! :santa:
Have fun planning.

We're going to OKW having traded a timeshare week, and paid a resort fee (not sure what that does for me but I guess gives me the same privileges as an owner :confused3 ). I read somewhere that renters don't get free use of some of the recreational items, like video rentals, etc. but that's about it. Otherwise, you get all the perks of any resort guest. :thumbsup2 That would include DME, busses, boats to DTD, EMH, etc.

We have been there about that same time frame. The week after Thanksgiving, they start taping the Disney Christmas parade. You can see Regis and Kelly etc... and also become part of the audience at that time.

One thing you might want to do is go to MGM and se the Spectacal of Lights. It is over 1 Million lights over a 2 block area. If that doesn't get you into the Spirit then I can't help you.

The Crowds are not too bad. Check with the front desk and see if any events are happening, we had Pop Warner Football there 1 time and the MK got to be a quite busy. Lots of 8-15 yrs. old kids. They weren't kept under control very well. Seems like the Chaprones were more intrested in having their own fun and not much managing their charges.

Other than that It should be a great time.:santa: :cheer2:

OKW is a great resort. It is one of the larger DVC's (room wise) but it is a quiet resort. I love it. I'm a dvc member but I'm pretty sure you will get all the same benefits at the resort that we do, the only thing I can think of is at some restaurants and shops we get discounts with the card.
Have a great time.

This is a great time of year to go! Crowds are still light at this time. You may hear mention of the Pop Warner groups, but in all honesty in two trips taken during this time frame we saw very little of them in the parks. I think a lot of people who stay at the resorts where they are (All Stars, Pop and maybe POR) have the most problems with them. Whether this time of year is a little quirky, so plan for everything from shorts to coats with hats and gloves.

Don't miss:

MVMCP
Osborne Specticle of Lights at MGM
Candlelight Processional at EPCOT
Touring various resorts, especially Deluxe.
Downtown Disney

Take your time, enjoy the decorations, the music, etc!
