Hi!

I have been checking in on this thread for a while now, trying to come up with some ideas for my next trip.

I have a few questions-when you make the T-Shirts with the Mickey Head out of fabric, Do you wash both the fabric and the T-Shirt first? Neither or just one?

I just finished making a dress for my niece. How do I go about posting a picture?

Check the first post in this thread on how to post pictures!

I wash both the fabric and the shirt. In a pinch you could really skip washing either one of them or both if you had to. Not that I would know anything about that. :rolleyes1

No, but that would've been a cute photo op!

That would have been super cute! How about in some wedding attire too! Or Cinderella and Prince Charming.

or those bride and groom mouse ears? I guess we'll have to go back next year :worship: If we take too long, it won't be so cute and funny. :rotfl:

Okay, so my trip ticker, instead of saying X number of days SINCE my trip, it started over a whole new countdown for a trip NEXT YEAR! I think it's a sign, I really don't want to change it!

Here is a dress I made for my niece with a reversible head band.

I have shorts cut out of the blue for my nephew and now I need to find a white shirt to match and I may applique a patch of the pooh material on it.

Do you think the bucket hat of these 2 materials is too girlie for a 2 yr old boy???

Hope everyone is doing well! I hope to be planning a trip before the end of the year, so maybe I will be around more!

Mindy:)
You have some of the most beautiful girls ever. I love those curls on both of your girls.

I'm kind of wasting time right now. I of course have a ton of :laundy: to do that I am trying to ignore. And then I need to get started on dresses for my BFF's daughter and three nieces. I am dreading it! I hate making three of the same dresses for my girls let alone four of them! Oh well. I better get them done so I can start on Easter dresses for my girls (which I have ordered just in case I don't get any made!).
Thanks for reminding me that I have laundry that needs to be done.

Snubie- the Flower and Garden Show at Epcot is my all time favorite event!!!
And I have not had a chance to post how much I love this idea.
Ill admit, Im not a fan of the Vida for some reason. But this dress just sold me!

I am going to a Flower and Garden Show here in Conneticut next weekend- could you whip me up one in a maternitiy top??? ;)

Photos....
Just cause they look so cute-
My kitties, Boaz (Bo) and Bella

he is 20lb and she is about 7 or 8lbs

Here is my first Simply Sweet. The top fits better without a shirt under it- This is the size 2. Easy Fit pants, size 3, with 1 inch added to the top and 1 inch subtracted from the bottom, before adding the cuff.

Here is the back

She wanted a picture with one of our dogs

She was getting into the idea of posing and is looking for my shoulder now to see herself
That is so pretty. I love the red dots on it. They really make the outfit.

Do NOT forget IRONING too Crystal!!!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi! Can I join in your fun? I've been lurking a bit, looking at all the fabulous outfits you've all made. I'm so glad I read about CarlaC's patterns - I tried the Simply Sweet dress & love it. So easy to put together & so many different looks I can do with it.

We're leaving next Wednesday for our trip, surprising the kids when we're almost there. We're planning to tell them we're going to visit an "old friend" in Florida. Technically, not a lie, as the old friend will be Mickey. :woohoo:

I need to get in gear & make the last couple of outfits I have in mind for DD, as well as some shorts for my boys. Here's what I've done so far for DD:

Simply Sweet Tinkerbell dress, using a pillowcase as the front bodice piece (I think I might add a Euro ruffle out of the green dotted fabric along the seam between the bodice & skirt):

Studio Tantrum Hermosa top & Redondo skirt, for Animal Kingdom:

I love them all, but I am in love with the Tinkerbell dress.

I have a question for all of you Northerners!!!!

Yesterday in class it was pointed out to me that ironing clothes on a daily basis is a Southern thing. So my question is Do you people who were born and raised up north iron your clothes on a daily basis or just for special occasions?

Not a Northerner here (we're in the 'burbs of New Orleans), but I iron every day. I never thought people did anything different than that!

You don't count!!:lmao: You are one of us southern daily ironers.:rotfl2:Maybe that is why it is so hot here. We are all constantly using our irons.:rotfl:

I live in Albuquerque now but was raised in MI and I only iron if I have to. Although since I started sewing the iron and board are out all the time so I could iron more often. I really don't mind it so much but my mom hated it so there was always a pile to be ironed. I just try not to buy clothes that will need ironing.

There are people that iron for non-sewing purposes?:scared1: :scared1:
Don't tell my DH. He irons his own shirts for church and besides that, basically............nothing else gets ironed!:upsidedow

:rotfl2: if you consider Philly north - then no way!!!!! I love that downy wrinkle releaser!!! I only iron when sewing or doing iron ons for trips!!!:lmao:

I'm up north, but in Canada. I don't think many of us iron, maybe it's just the people I know though.

My sister gave me an ironing board her MIL gave her. I only use it when making clothes. This is the first time I have used it since I got it about 3-4 yrs ago.

The only other time I remember ironing is when I was at WDW and was awake and bored and needed to find something quiet to do. Fogot how loud the board is when you open it!

so i was just doing a drive by and i saw this question and i had to answer and the answer from ny is no way! seriously unless i am sewing my iron stays hidden in the bathroom closet. i dont even have a full size ironing board. i use my dining room table. i once used my iron to do a preschool project (crayons melted in wax paper) and didnt replace the iron for months.

Thank you guys for answering. I can't believe that is true. :lmao:Linnette said she doesn't iron either and I was wondering if it was true for other northerners.

I iron daily... if I'm sewing. Otherwise I rarely iron and then only what is absolutely necessary, like the plackets for some of my button up tops. I'm sure there are some people in this area that iron regularly but they'd be considered very unusual... if not down right obsessive. :rotfl:

I only iron when I am sewing. If I have a special occasion and my outfit is wrinkly I hang it in the bathroom while I shower to "steam" it.
