*CLOSED*MOVED*Disboutiquers Part 11 Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes we sew

Between watching the LMT site refresh all day today, I did get a lot done. I finished the outfit for Jake. I took what I learned from the bowling shirt and used it in the shorts so they have Mickey fabric on the sides. I messed up the first few cutting and sewings but finally got it right.

I don't care much for the colours but is perfect for a little boy.

Too cute i love that you added it to the shorts i am gonna have to case your idea..

Update :
Okay so i am foreclosing on my house :sad1: we decided that's the best thing to do. we are gonna rent for awhile and get caught up so that we can purchase a bigger better more comfortable one, i have 2 older boys in a teeny tiny small room who are getting to be teenagers , our water heater burst and ruined the downstairs floor . which is more to replace then the house is worth. I hate my neighborhood and it is getting pretty bad her especially when the fences are tagged by gangs every other night and the police are up and down your street as much as the post man. Plus their is a canal across from me and alot of robberies have happened because of it . and i hate the JR high my son will be going too :scared: ... needless to say it took this to happen for me to realize it, Plus My husband is miserable and want us to have alot better.
BUT i do have till june to find a diff place to live . It was a tough desicion but it is the right thing to do ..:scratchin

with that said My dh brought me home a lil gift today:faint: for all that i have put up with and the stress of his loosing his job and the kids and just wanted to see my passion for life continue, I kinda fell into a depression spiral and it scared him.:guilty:

He hands me a receipt for a brand new Singer quantum Futura CE350 embroidery machine
It is on order and i should have it next week sometime
It was on sale at Jo-anns Sat and he said that if he would have told me about it i would have said No (Which he is right)
I had been researching them and had wondered what kind i would want If we got our income taxes back so i kept putting it off and finally he made me call Jhammy and ask her what she had SAT. (THanks Jhammy)
He said he did not see spending money on something less when this one was on sale ..
I can honestly say i am still wanting to take it back but at the same time i WANT it ...::yes::
I am just taking a selfish moment in life:snooty: and i am gonna keep it . I love to sew and it helps with my Mood and self esteem so much ...:cheer2:
Is this completely insane of me or what?

Spongie, I am glad to see that it seems like you have come to a decision that is going to work for the family. I will continue to pray that it all works out! With the new machine maybe you can crank out some more outfits to sell! Everything you make is so cute!

And, I really came to post pictures, but photobucket won't work and I am exhausted! Good night all!

Sponge- Sewing is what got me through my youngest daughters seizures. When my baby turned a year old she started having seizures. Over the course of 3-4 months she had 30. It was awful. I would stay up all night waiting for the next to occur. Instead of fretting I would sew. It was a bright spot during a difficult time. Just know that you are not alone and we all have gone through rough financial spots this year. You by no means are being selfish. :)

Misty-I wouldn't feel bad about keeping the machine. We as women take the full responsibility of worrying for our families. We are the planners and take care of everything that our DH's don't. If sewing is what helps you than by all means do what you can to enjoy it and make it your haven. Enjoy the machine and know that you have others envying your new gift.:thumbsup2:grouphug: Hopefully things will turn around for you and your family.

With that very long winded rant I'll get to the point. I've been trying to make (and yes I realize the fabric I buy is PROBABLY made in china too, I can only do so much people) more stuff at home.

Wow, some very good points you make T! And, that ring toss IS cute!!! I love it!

Oh my gosh! I swear I thought you could go to ycmt.com

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've been to the Chung family website!!! :rotfl2:

I found it!!! This is why it stinks not having the internet at home. I bought peaches AND strawberries the other day and did not have this recipe on hand. I just used som dish soap (biodegradable-plant based) and gave them a good rinsing.

If you can't buy organic produce, you need to make sure you wash it thoroughly. Use this spray to make sure your fruit and vegetables are squeaky clean.

Ingredients:

1 cup water
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon baking soda
20 drops grapefruit seed extract
Combine all ingredients in a large container. Then, transfer to a spray bottle with a pump. Spray mixture on produce, and rinse thoroughly after 5 to 10 minutes.

*Grapefruit seed extract is available at your local health food store.

(be carefull...vinegar and baking soda DOES react like a volcano...use a large container and mix over the sink!!!)
...t.

Thanks T!!1

April, that turned out great! I wasn't sure how that fabric would look for a boy's outfit, but it really looks great!!!

Perhaps a stupid question but........

When I see the term 'subbing' in a thread what does that mean???

When you sub to a thrad, it puts it in your User CP so you can find it easier. You can also have email updates sent to you when somene replies to the thread. You can sub by going to "thread tools" at the top of the thread and clicking "subscribe". You can also change your preferences so that you subscribe to each thread you reply to.

1.)Aww, that is so sweet!
2.)It stinks, doesn't it! Today, I had the digital box on, and was watching Ellen. Then, all of sudden "No Signal"!!! Nothing had changed, the signal was just gone! I was peeved! Thankfully, I was just able to unhook the box!

Corey showed me an online site were there are lots of full length shows and even movies. http://www.hulu.com it's free too! I just wish we could watch it with our Wii browser on the TV! Then, I'd be all set!
1) Thank You :) You guys are all so encouraging
2) I hate the "No Signal" Steve watches a lot of Hulu. And I totally agree on the Wii aspect of it all. Wouldn't that be great?

Here's my first ever Minnie set.

DS is sure he wearing this to school today but yesterday was -22. I don't think he is wearing it unless he has a long sleeve pull over under it.
Very cute!! Did he get to wear it to school?
I would have cried too!

the club cheer is kind of like Nik's football squad. they perform at the football games and then we are going to try to get them in competitions. It is so much fun!!!!!!

that is so funny what your little girl said about the petti!
She is a hoot I tell ya. And she is not at all happy that I'm planning to sew for the boys too

Your dd is so adorable!!
Ok here is my disastrous applique!
I don't think it's disatrous at all. I'm still too chicken to even try it
Hey...just another update on my Granny...she was doing pretty good last night...full use of both arms, maybe a little weakness still in her left, but still she was using it. She is still talking in 3-4 words at a time, but she is trying and is of course smiling the entire time! The speech therapist said this morning that she was able to swallow, which is good. They said it was considered like a mini stroke, so I think, not sure, that she should recover good. Right now, it's just one day at a time.
!
So glad she's doing better
:cloud9:
I went back and saw the skirt you made Madilynn. It is WONDERFUL!!!! GREAT job!!!
Thanks Heather. I'm so glad you all have motivated me to sew again. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it :)
I finally have some pictures of the things I made my daughter.
She will definitely be one well dressed kiddo :thumbsup2
I am working in some outfits for Noah's give and I thought of doing a "Donald Duck" outfit for little Noah ( I am also doing some t shirts and jeans with appliques)
this is what I am working on

2008_01260004.jpg

VERY cute! Your talent amazes me. To be able to picture something in your mind, draw it out, piece it together and have an amazing outfit in the end. That is pure talent

WHAT?!?!?! i just missed a coop buy for that??? Of all the luck!! I really am so excited that I found that pattern, I can't wait to make it (of course I still need to buy the pattern)

I am feeling 100% better Thank you so much for asking!! I needed a little time to take care of myself and learn a little balance. I'm LOVING learning to be a SAHM too!!!!

I am trying to find a local farmer for meat and eggs. We have a farmers market on Saturdays and there are local produce guys. We try to buy locally as much as possible (and try to avoid the Wal place at all costs) I prefer organic (of course who can afford all organic? Not me) but it's not a MUST with the exception of a few things (like milk) but when I'm in the store and it's meat possibly from mexico or AMERICAN organic, then that is what I buy. Fortunately for my pocketbook DH thinks he has gout and is trying to modify his diet accordingly including cutting back on red meat, so I'm not buying much of it.
But thanks for reminding me that I should be looking harder!;)

And thanks for the warm welcome back. I missed you all too!!!
...t.
I hear what you are saying about buying American. I try. Though i d do my part with the animals buy not eating meat at all:thumbsup2 It kind of grosses me out. Though I still have to make it for the rest of the family.:crazy2:

As for the gout. George has had it for a few yrs. Tell him he needs to cut out things with uric acid. Tomatoes are a big one!!! Shrimp and beer are another issue. George is actually on meds daily because of it. Poor guy if he eats too much salad he has stomach issues since he has no colon if he eats too much uric acid his foot gets bad! Actually not this last time but the time before when we went to WDW he had to miss the last day of our trip because the food was too rich for him and he wasn't drinking enough water to help flush everything out of his system. Poor guy had to hang out in the hotel room all day why we where at the parks because he couldn't walk his gout was so bad! This last time when we went his dr gave us meds to keep just incase his gout acted up but thankfully it didn't!

You sew and sometimes sell things right? So this will help you out with that, right? SO no need to feel selfish. And really, if you were getting depressed and this will help you with that, don't you think in the long run this is a better purchase than medication (no shame in medication either - whatever works, works!) and probably cheaper in the long run? No matter how you justify it to make yourself feel better, just do it! Sometimes we need to feel spoiled and taken care of and this is your time! You have been through a rough patch and made some tough decisions. I hope that it all works out for you! And don't disappear on us again! You know you can always "talk" to all of us and we will be there to "listen"

Misty,

I am happy that you have made a decision that is best for your family. Hard as it is it looks like you are seeing the silver lining in this move. I will continue to pray for you and your family and that God watches over you as prepare for your transition.

Wow, just in the night. Jessica, that is amazing! Of course I am just amazed by your talents. The shirts are perfect.

Well friends, I survived the LMT fiasco and now back to real life. I must say it was fun and it was only my time. I did get the house cleaned, the shorts made and so many other things. I was not chained to my computer.

I don't know what to sew for today?
