Everything looks great! happy bday to your little girl!At least you had a pretty button to put on there. I think it came out great
Here is my attempt at a Marie cake:

She loves "Kitty Marie". Her grandma bought that stuffed animal for her when we were in Disney World in the fall, and Ava still carries it everywhere.
I had some left-over fabric from the purse, so I put together a little pillowcase dress:

Anyway, we had fun. It was a great birthday. I can't believe my little girl is two, now. Not a baby anymore![]()
The pillow case dress reminds me does any one have a good pattern for one? I looked in the book marks and they all seem to come from actual pillow cases which I can't do because I need one for Nik who is 9 and one for my niece who is 2. besides i have some fabric in mind for them!
I love the bows I say go for it! I bet se will love them!I LOVE this dress. She looks great in it, sleepy and all. I do not sew but I love this thread so I can see all of your gorgeous creations. Then I beg my seamstress (aka Auntie) if she will make something similar. Darla has banned me from this thread. She actually answered the phone the other day "yeas I saw that cute dress, find the fabric."
What do you think are the bows to little girl?
Everything is so cute! I love that minnie dot skirt!I've gone back through and looked at all the great work. Glad to know I'm not the only one who does this!
Here are some shots of outfits from our trip in 2007, when DD would allow me to make such a thing.

Now at the age of 10, she is not so keen on wearing such items....Here's what she's letting me make for her this trip:
![]()
Hopefully I'll get some more made...
I found some lovely rhinestone iron ons of tink and minnie on etsy that I'm going to put on some shirts for her and I've got my bag to make...
BEAUTIFUL!Okay, here goes nothing! First attempt to post a photo...

This dress was my first smocking project. DD who is now 9 wore this dress when she was 4, 5 & 6. She wishes it would still fit! DD2 will hopefully wear it this Easter. Notice the sneakers! This is at the Easter Egg hunt at the Naval Academy and it is a run for your life event to get as many eggs as possible. The mids put out 1000's of eggs, it is so much fun!
Trust me, from what I've seen on these boards, you all can do it if I can do it!
She doesn't need to be fixed! As long as she isn't being fresh about it which it doesn't sound like she is at all and if Auntie loves doing it let her enjoy! Speaking as an aunt that makes her niece and nephew things all the time. I adore making things for them! I almost teared up when my almost 3 yrs old niece( who can talk like a 5 yr old!)called me the other night to how much she loved her animal pj's i made her. Apparently she wouldn't get out of her 'twirly dress' and her mom was begging her to put on her pj's and the only thing she would wear was her animal ones. That meant the world to me! So what does a god auntie do in this case? She makes her more pj's!Help. How do I fix my daughter? Do I want to fix her??
We call her Auntie her Fairygodmother and up until about a year ago I truly think she thought that all she did was waive a wand and clothes appeared. She has become accustomed to having special outfits. Last year at school they had free dress day at school as long as you dressed to the theme. One of the days was black/white checkers. Unbeknown to me she asked her Auntie for something checkered 2 days before. And the next day Auntie showed up with a checkered outfit.
If you have read this far.
So I am getting her ready for a rest right now as she is going to a birthday party later today. She tells me that when she gets up she wants to put on her cute tinkerbell outfit.![]()
I ask what cute tinkerbell outfit. You know for the party she replies.
What have I done???
She could wear it with a long sleeve top and jeans. Or should I just tell her to wear regular clothes???
Sorry for the loooooooooooong post.
REALLY CUTE! Hum this has got me thinking I wonder if these kinds of bows are regulation in cheerleading??? I just may have to find out because maybe I can get my 9 yr old in them if only for cheerleading!I showed Jennifer the fabrics I was using and the applique and she did the rest. She added the centers. She also made Belle and Ariel bows using those same centers - I love them all!!

Feel better!!!!!Hi all...just stopping by to say a stuffed up Hi...I got Patrick's sick from last weekend. Timmy had it on Wednesday- Friday...Now it's me...YUCK!I want to sew...went in the sewing room twice...looked around, sat on my stool, walked out and laid on the couch...I need to clean my house. It is a true mess right now...I have no strength.
Saw so many cute outfits...Great job everybody...
Have a great..sniff...weekend!
Not in trouble let her wear the outfit with a long sleeved shirt under it! Look at it this way she gets more use out of it!I say let her wear the green top with a long sleeved shirt and jeans, but I don't think there is anything to fix. Part of being a child is believing in magic.
Thanks for the replies. It so does feel like magic. My girls love their Auntie and the treats she makes them.
I did realize I am in trouble though. This is the first party both girls have been invited to. If I put the oldest in her Tink top the youngest will want something too.
My hubby so does not get this. I am glad you all do. I feel a little bit like I am telling her there is no Santa.![]()
What a god auntie!!!!!!!!!Dear poohnpigletCA:
FIX HER!
Love,
auntie Fairygoodmother

Seriously, Karen, keep the magic alive. She won't always be this little, and she won't always believe. And she won't always have me to bibbidy-bobbidy-boo for her. And if you think little sister is going to lose her mind over not having anything Tink to wear, come over...I have fabric![]()
or...1) go to the office supply store 2) purchase iron on printer paper 3) find Tinkerbell clip art 4) print onto the iron on paper 5) iron it onto a t-shirt
VOILA! Tinkerbell clothing. And I happen to know the office supply store is not too far from your home.![]()
pretty!Finished my latest Big Give outfit this afternoon.
![]()
I also finished my daughter's Valentine's Skirt. Hopefully she will consent to model it soon. I showed it to her and she said thanks mom. She's in a nekkid kick right now and once her clothes are off, you can't get her to get dressed again just to hang around the house. It drives me nuts. ( I probably should clarify that she will be 3 in 2 months and is in the middle of Potty Training. Nekkid means running around in a pullup)
cool iron ons!A lurker delurking to say hello! I love all of the outfits you all create! I do not sew - at all. I do however make iron-on t-shirts and sweatshirts and just participated in my first big give so I thought it was time to officially say hello. I usually customize others dissigns but have started trying my hand at dissigning in photoshop elements.
I also love to scrapbook - especially our Disney trips. I have heard the word Cricut around here so maybe I will not be totally out of place among you boutiquers.![]()
Anyway - I just wanted to say hi and share a photo of my first Big Give shirt and a sweatshirt I made for our family trip. Jen

I hope se feels better! Have you taken her to the dr yet?Thank you so much for everyone who asked about Lydia! She is still really sick. Sicker today than yesterday. She ate two crackers today, and I got her to drink a little. She's been sleeping most of the day. She just looks so sick.
Kyle has lovingly passed his cold on to me! It isn't ad yet but I feel it coming on!
Great job! My dd loves that pose too! I wonder if it is a hannah Montana thing???Hi
I come here often to look at all the great stuff you guys make. I just started to sew last fall and my DD is turning 5 in february and wants an Hannah Montana b-day party so I decided to give a try at a skirt (and after looking at all the pretty stuff you all made) here is her skirt:
![]()
She used to be very shy and since she discover Hannah last fall she's a totally different girl...
I couldn't belive how easy it was to make this skirt, now I can wait to make some more![]()
I would do the pink dots maybe with some green to match and add rik rack or ribbon. So we went and bought fabric. I won't be doing that again with Madilynn in tow. She would have bought the store LOL
We got it all washed and folded and now I just can't make up my mind.

These are the only dots they had.

I was disappointed in their selection. I went to the Super JoAnn's 30 mins away. I think I would have had better luck just going to the whole-in-the-wall JoAnn's in town. I wanted to tie the lime green into the skirt somehow. Any ideas? Here's the shirt again.
Teresa I hope Lydia feels better soon
that is my thoughts too! Which reminds e I need to use ric rak and ribbon more!My initial thought would be to add lime green kona cotton and add a strip of ric rac (or 3 or 4!). Ribbon is a great idea too!
Well Nik is even more hooked on cheerleading! We went to my friends dd's competition yesterday and for at least 3 hours Nik was enthralled! What is even scarier is she LOVEd the flyers tricks! She is already the flyer or was the flyer last season but now se has seen all the fancy stuff ad well she wants to do it!!!!
