Does anyone have the Carla C simply sweet pattern? Im trying to decide if its worth getting if I already have the stripwork twirl???? is their much difference in general except for the ruffle on the sleeve?

I got it more for the halter style - the one with the straps the only difference is the ruffled strap, but then you get the halter styles AND the different waists (one just like the strip work jumper and one empire waist). IF I didn't have any I would get the simply sweet first, because you ca easily calculate how to make the strips on your own and use those with the simply sweet. But the stripwork came out first. . . . But both are wonderful patterns!

I've purchased most of my designs from http://stores.ebay.com/Tigerlilyhill-Embroidery-Designs. I've purchased probably 70 or so designs from her. She is nice to work with and only one time did I have a problem. I just dropped her an email and she corrected it. She offers bundle packs that make it a little bit cheaper. I been buying from her for about a year and a half.

Thanks, I will check it out!

This thread sure is moving fast. I need to go back and catch up but first I thought I would ask for some advice. I have over 300 pictures on my Disney PhotoPass card that are about to expire in a couple days. I am conflicted on whether I should buy the CD or purchase one of the Disney Photo Books using those pictures. I am curious if any of you have bought the Disney Photo book and if so, how do you like it? Do you think it is worth the money?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

We did a Photobook last year after our trip... also got the CD. The book turned out beautifully. I would have done another one this year, but we only had about a dozen photopass pics this year and maybe 4 of them were good.... our two year old has decided that frowning is what you do when someone points a camera at you. We bought the couple of good ones. Someday we will show her how silly she was ;)

But I will say it took me awhile to put the book together online....with the help of a then 4 and 1 year old ;)
So, if you got just the CD you would have more time to decide just what you wanted? Good Luck.

I go to WDW 2 weeks from today and I'm not ready!!:scared1: But no matter how much I get done I know we'll have a great time!

Here is a Pooh Valentine shirt for Megan, the MindyMouse1 Big Give! She is 12 but likes Pooh so hopefully she'll like it! They are going in February, but I don't think it is a holiday specific shirt either, just Pooh holding a heart!

LOVE that and I'm sure Megan will too!

Family shirts for nick's wish trip.

Those are awesome!

I would like to ask anyone who has the inclination to pray for my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Jenny. She's in the hospital. She had a DNC and some other procedure done almost a month ago because she was having terrible cramps and lots of bleeding between periods. Well, she has had lots of problems with pain and fevers since then. They admitted her to the hospital yesterday when the pain was so bad she couldn't even walk. They THINK she has an infection in her uterus, a urinary tract infection, and that she's passing a kidney stone. I don't understand how all of that could happen at once. I am so worried about her. She is all by herself in the hospital because her husband went to work today and then he has to be home with their 4 kids this evening. I just can't stand the thought of her in the hospital all by herself. She lives 4 hours away and the roads are too bad for me to drive up there.

ETA:I just called her a minute ago and now they think that it's not a kidney stone, but they still don't know what it is. She's on all sorts of drugs, but she said she's still in terrible pain. They're talking about doing exploratory laproscopic surgery of her abdomen. My poor Jenny.:sad2:
Prayers for your friend!

I am Obsessive - Compulsive. I admit it, not proud of it but it is what it is.

I signed up yesterday for the TinyTreasures Big Give. I finished the outfit today (mostly, I just have to hand sew on the buttons.) I am hoping that mom was right when she said Isabella loves Pink.:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

The rick rack looks straighter in person but looks wonky here.

Hey all I need some serious prayers and a miracle
My dh lost his job in oct (still does not have one Even with a bachelors degree in acct and going to school for his masters in HR) Ironic Huh?
we had to file for Chapt 13 (due to some serious identity theft )
and now just today we got our eviction notice on our house , we have to be out by feb 2nd . we are behind 3 months on our mortgage (which at this point they were supposed to be working things out for us )

I am at a loss and i just want to curl in a ball ..

I have absolutely nowhere to go esp. with a family of 7 .
i am so sorry to come here and vent but i really needed to say something .

Please pray for some kind of miracle, Not for me but for my 5 children. I feel horrible even asking because i know there are better places that need your prayers

I tried to start a etsy shop and sell what i could but without money for fabric and findings that makes it hard, Plus i know the economy is so horrible....
My kids know that something is up but don't know exactly what it is ...
Life is just a rollercoaster for me right now ...
 I'm so sorry!

Just when I thought I was getting caught up you guys went and moved on me. . .

But I caught up. Everything posted was adorable as usual!! Welcome to all the newbies.

We got back late Saturday Night and I brought back a sinus infection. So I have been lagging behind on the laundry. I also had to take down the Christmas decorations when I got back.

So tomorrow hopefully I can get some pictures posted. I made Buzz Lightyear bowling shirts for the kids and they turned out so cute. When we went to meet Buzz he got down on bended knee and kissed my hand. :lovestruc

Prayers are being said for all those who need them. :grouphug: :grouphug: Spongie I hope a miracle comes through for you.
Can't wait to see your Buzz shirts! Hope your feeling better soon!

I haven't purchased a Disney Photo Book but I would get the CD. I looked at the books to see if I wanted to prepurchase one but they really didn't have all that many page layout options. I would get the CD and do a book with Kodak or some other service.

Im not sure where to start - it has been a very up and down day today - JCAHO is at our hospital doing an inpection this week, and everyone is just on pins and needles all the time -so afraid of being asked a question I dont know the answer to!!!!!

Daniel - his follow up MRI done yesterday as a follow up from last week when they saw a "dark spot" where the tumor had been came back CLEAN!!!! YAY!!! We were concerned the tumor was growing back, but it was just blood from the surgery and it is gone!!! YAY!!! Anyway, he had his chemo and radiation today. I also found out they have a 50 dollar copay for EACH DR AND THERAPY VISIT!!!! UGH!!! BUT, since Daniel's dad was laid off right before Christmas, they will qualify for a special Nemours Grant from the hospital and it will all be covered 100%

This morning at work, my BFF and I got word that one of our dear friends that used to work with us before she moved out to Pittsburg to marry her true love and get married lost her baby. She is 29 years old - married about 2 years. The baby was very healthy, happy, cooing, rolling etc - went to bed last night with out anything differnt - she died of SIDS at 4 months old. They went to get her this morning and she was gone.......I just cant believe it,,,soooooooo sad.....our friend's mom called us to let us know what had happened. I was just facebooking with her on Sunday about snow and the baby and how happy they all were and how nice Jillian's first Christmas was.:sad1:

I feel so happy for Daniel and so sad for Jenn at the same time - - - thanks for listening.......
 What great news on Daniel. I am so sorry for your friend's unimaginable loss.:sad1:

Does anyone have the Carla C simply sweet pattern? Im trying to decide if its worth getting if I already have the stripwork twirl???? is their much difference in general except for the ruffle on the sleeve?

Im considering purchasing the bundle with the raglan shirt, bowling shirt and easyfit pants - but i already have the easy fit pants, so they said i could replace it with another carla c pattern,,,,which one? ( i have the aline, portrait peasant, stripwork twirl and easyfit pants).....thoughts?

has anyone used the chef hat for a grown up? we have a pancake breakfast fund raiser this saturday and i was thinking of making one for DH since he is one of the "chefs"......he has a big head!!:rotfl2:
I don't have the stripwork twirl so I can't say but how about the bucket hat? Did you buy that one?

Hi girls :)

I just want to tell you what awesome outfits you all make! :worship:

I have a 4 month old DD & would LOVE to figure out how to make her a couple of outfits like the beautiful ones here (especially for her first trip to WDW in December! :goodvibes ) I just found your thread & have started to look at your photobucket pics - I LOVE this outfit!

I have a sewing machine & have made some hanging wall size decorative quilting items & pillows before, but have never made any clothing items really. Can you girls tell me if there is a particular pattern to follow for items similar to the ones above? Are they in the bookmark section? Or can you direct me to a particular pattern to buy at Michael's/Joann's?

Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!! :goodvibes

I ended up ordering my photobook from Shutterfly. I guess if I had not preordered my CD in a share I might have gone ahead and done the book in the photopass site. I liked having all the pictures on CD though. It took me forever to put my book together. The best part was that at Christmas I was able to order one for us and one for my folks 1/2 which was a great Christmas present for them.

Im considering purchasing the bundle with the raglan shirt, bowling shirt and easyfit pants - but i already have the easy fit pants, so they said i could replace it with another carla c pattern,,,,which one?:

I just have the easy fit pants and the portrait peasant so I can't answer that question, I'm sorry.

I do wonder if they are always willing to do this? I would be so excited if I could bundle those two with the bucket hat!

I've been busy sewing!! I did DS's set today, and worked on DD's hat ALL afternoon yeterdy!! I used the newsboy/cloche attern from YCMT and the sizing is waaay off! First on was TINY, second one was HUGE and the last one was wearable. Still a little big but not too bad. (Of course DD kept pulling the thing over her eyes!!) I swear I got DS's set done in the same time it took to get the hat "right".

I emailed them last night and this was the response they sent me today -

Hi Wendy,

This is Sherrie from youcanmakethis.com. Thanks for your email. Not a problem. :) Just purchase the bundle and then send me a direct email letting me know which other one of hers you would like.

Thanks!

Sherrie

So maybe just try emailing them and see!!!! I was thinking of the bucket hat for my nephew Daniel who has cancer - but when he saw what a bucket hat was, he decided that was for little kids - he wants baseball hats!! lol!!

My emotional see saw continues tonight - our friends from church who have been trying to adopt got word today that the 8 year old boy they had chosen off a wait list would be ready for them to go and pick up in 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU PEOPLE!!! Too many pages already! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Welcome back Karen! Yes! We did miss you, and YES! I did receive your package! Thank YOU!!!!! So did you have fun?!
I hope I have time to use it before our trip! I still have a few sewing projects that I need to get done!

I contacted the seller of the Donald Duck applique just a week or so after i purchased the first one. He/She said she had no more and wasn't sure where to get another on.
For those not familiar with the awesome pre-made Donald Duck applique I tripped upon on Ebay last summer.

I really want to see your Buzz Lightyear bowling shirts! Hmmm...do you have a 40th birthday tee shirt you want to resell  too bad it would be too small for me! I hope you had a great trip!

This is probubly a simple question, but do you have to have a special machine to applique? and how do you applique?

no, and check the first page for a link to Heather's applique tutorial, it ROCKS!

The cute pink top is CarlaC's a-line pattern from youcanmakethis.com, the pants are her easy fit pants, same place. They are great. Carla's directions are wonderful so I'm sure transitioning from quilting and pillows would be easy. I made the red and white dot skirt without a pattern. It is easy and I have made similar skirts for babies as little as yours, so when you're ready, PM me, let me know how long you want to make it and I will send you directions.

SOOOO cute! Emily looks gorgeous! I find that with that hat if I vary my seam allowance by even a fraction of an inch the whole hat is crazy. I've made the same size twice and one hat ended up for Lily and one for Jayden :confused3 I've taken to adding a piece of elastic inside the back of the band. Not that I've made one in a very long time.

Hey, I know Sherrie! She is so nice!

I never did post them last April. You all inspired me to learn to sew and applique. I think I did ok for a first timer!

Here are the outfits I made DD for Disney World. I can't wait to get started for this trip.

Newbie here--I am in total awe of your work!:worship: You guys have some awesome stuff on here. I guess I'm going to have to start sewing for DD3 & DD1--I haven't sewed anything serious since middle school. Any easy stuff you can point me towards???

As far as the carseat issue--I have a Britax Marathon & Frontier. I love the Britax! The frontier is heavier & a little unwieldy if you transfer between cars a lot.
YouCanMakeThis.com has the easiest patterns and they are so versatile too.

Well................. did you think of it yet??
No, You will just have to excuse me. I have young-heimer's. I forget stuff all the time. When I remember I will forget that it was you I wanted to ask. :lmao:

Prayers are being said for all of those that need them and  all around.

Wendy I am so happy to hear that Daniel is improving. I can't wait until you post that he is all done with chemo and is in full re-mission.

I am saving money to get Jenna a Britax. When I am ready to buy will you guys still be here to help me pick one out?

I was looking at Hancock fabrics website and I was trying to figure out what kind of nylon I would need to buy to make a petti-skirt. Does it have a certain name? Does it have to be 100% nylon or the nylon poly blend?

I love the colors, and the polka dot! I bought some of those polka dot at my Joann's.

I have ordered a few car seats, and strollers from albeebaby.com. They have always had the lowest price when I was looking. They also sell on eBay, and their Buy it Now price on eBay are sometimes even lower than their online store...I can't remember their id there, but i will see if I can find it. It has been a while since I bought from them.

Ooh, I would love to know their seller ID. I didn't know that they sold on ebay! Thanks!

I also watch The Bachelor. Henry and I were just saying last night that we should nominate one of his friends that is very unattractive for the next season. Don't you guys think it's about time they start helping people that REALLY need it? I think it would be much more interesting!

:rotfl2: You are too funny. Very Unattractive! And yes, how hard is it to find someone for a guy who is hot and rich (usually anyway)? They really need to go for the poor guy out there who doesn't stand a chance!

Thanks Adi......

I'm saying lots of prayers for you Misty.

Hi Friends,

Prayers sent out to those tonight who need them for health (Jenny) and just life's unexpected times (Spongie)......whew....

Im not sure where to start - it has been a very up and down day today - JCAHO is at our hospital doing an inpection this week, and everyone is just on pins and needles all the time -so afraid of being asked a question I dont know the answer to!!!!!

Wendy that is terrific news for Daniel!

I am so sad for your friend's lost. That is so tragic. And since Lilly is still just 6 months old it makes me so cautious with her. I'll be sure and give all of my girls an extra kiss tonight and Thanks God for them. Prayers will be said for this new little angel.

I swear I have the stripwork jumper pattern somewhere but I sure can't find it! My silly computer, who knows where it is! Anyway, I do have the Simply Sweet pattern and have used it lots and love it! I have done two of the different strap options so that is nice to be able to do. As always Carla is right on in the pattern! Sorry if this isn't much help!

This is probubly a simple question, but do you have to have a special machine to applique? and how do you applique?

Some people on here do have a special sewing machine that does the applique after they get the pattern but lots of us do it just with a regular sewing machine. If you have a sewing machine and want to learn how check out the bookmarks on the first page under applique. Heathersue has fantastic directions that will take you step by step through the process.

I never did post them last April. You all inspired me to learn to sew and applique. I think I did ok for a first timer!

Here are the outfits I made DD for Disney World. I can't wait to get started for this trip.

I contacted the seller of the Donald Duck applique just a week or so after i purchased the first one. He/She said she had no more and wasn't sure where to get another on.
For those not familiar with the awesome pre-made Donald Duck applique I tripped upon on Ebay last summer.
