I would like to ask anyone who has the inclination to pray for my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Jenny. She's in the hospital. She had a DNC and some other procedure done almost a month ago because she was having terrible cramps and lots of bleeding between periods. Well, she has had lots of problems with pain and fevers since then. They admitted her to the hospital yesterday when the pain was so bad she couldn't even walk. They THINK she has an infection in her uterus, a urinary tract infection, and that she's passing a kidney stone. I don't understand how all of that could happen at once. I am so worried about her. She is all by herself in the hospital because her husband went to work today and then he has to be home with their 4 kids this evening. I just can't stand the thought of her in the hospital all by herself. She lives 4 hours away and the roads are too bad for me to drive up there.

ETA:I just called her a minute ago and now they think that it's not a kidney stone, but they still don't know what it is. She's on all sorts of drugs, but she said she's still in terrible pain. They're talking about doing exploratory laproscopic surgery of her abdomen. My poor Jenny.:sad2:

Heather, I'm praying for your friend. How scary for her to be alone in the hospital and in pain. Hope it gets better for her soon.

I am Obsessive - Compulsive. I admit it, not proud of it but it is what it is.

I signed up yesterday for the TinyTreasures Big Give. I finished the outfit today (mostly, I just have to hand sew on the buttons.) I am hoping that mom was right when she said Isabella loves Pink.:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

The rick rack looks straighter in person but looks wonky here.

The back of the a line matches the pink polka dot pants.

Sorry about the huge pictures.

Very cute! Love it!

I love the pink with white polka dots. I know it's from Joann's but mine never seems to have it in stock. If someone wouldn't mind, would you get me the code on it if you happen to see it. Thanks!

I need opinions please:
For Austin who is 13 and AJ who is going on 9 I think. Or is it 8 Well any way what do you think of these?

This is too stinkin cute!!! I just love it! I love the pink!!!!
and I loved your Donald too- I remember when you posted that. I will keep my eyes out for the donald applique. You know, you could make one yourself though- just use a line drawing, and use heavy duty heat n bond paper, if you dont want to do the satin stitch and do paint instead. I just picked up 2 leisurearts pattern books with Winnie the Pooh outlines. I dont have immediate plans for them really, Well except a piglet wall hanging for babys room (winnie the pooh theme) but I figured they would be great for applique too, and easy enough to resize- I think.

Or..option 2- convince JHAM to do one for you and mail it to you- cause we all know how great she is at applique!

I also like the white A line with mickey head too!!

They're adorable! I really like the first one. Now to find a way to get it without DH noticing!!! LOL :lmao:

I love these! They're iron ons right? Do you have any tips or tricks that you'd recommend for them? I did one iron on a long time ago and it was a disaster when I washed it. It all came off. I've been scared to do iron ons ever since.

Be sure to use a good paper. My favorite is the paper from HewlettPackard. I just go to the website and order it. I think you get 3 for the price of 2 and free shipping and you get it in just a couple of days. Wash your tshirt first without any fabric softeners.

Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll even crank out something for my son, too :rotfl:

Everyone here loves the bowling shirt from YouCanMakeThis!! How cute to dress up DD and DS in matching shirts!

How very cute!

Here are my finished A-line tops :cool1: :cool1:

I'm excited about how easy they were to complete. Now on to try the skort pattern and make two Minni dot skirts.

Emily

You shirt looks great!

Sadly not all Targets have the 30% off.:sad1:

But I was still able to get the softest lined jacket for M.

I love the colors, and the polka dot! I bought some of those polka dot at my Joann's.

I know someone already responded but I really like www.albeebaby.com. THey usually have pretty good prices and sales. Free shipping too if you spend over $100 and with car seats that is pretty easy!

I have ordered a few car seats, and strollers from albeebaby.com. They have always had the lowest price when I was looking. They also sell on eBay, and their Buy it Now price on eBay are sometimes even lower than their online store...I can't remember their id there, but i will see if I can find it. It has been a while since I bought from them.

I contacted the seller of the Donald Duck applique just a week or so after i purchased the first one. He/She said she had no more and wasn't sure where to get another on.
For those not familiar with the awesome pre-made Donald Duck applique I tripped upon on Ebay last summer.

This is one of my all time favorite Disboutiquers outfits. Donald is my favorite character.

I was going to say the Donald one until I saw the third choice. I would go with the last one.

These are so awesome. I like 1 and three the best and my DS11 voted for number 3. I hope this helps some.:) :) :)

Thank you for the idea! I do love the bowling shirts I've seen you guys make for the boys. They look like they'd be fun to put together. (Sorry to keep posting. I don't mean to be the newbie hogging the boards.)

I just LOVE that third picture for the big give shirt!! How do i go about getting one without a name on it?

I don't know what's going on, I still can't quote!!! UGH!!!

Thank you all so much for the prayers for Jenny. :grouphug: I haven't heard anything else today. I plan to call there in about an hour, though. I don't want to be a pest, but I want to know what's going on!

:welcome: to the newbies! Have you seen my applique tutorial? ;)

Stacey, I LOVE the pink big give outfit!!!!!

I just love the white a-line with the Minnie hat!! That is just adorable!!

I also watch The Bachelor. Henry and I were just saying last night that we should nominate one of his friends that is very unattractive for the next season. Don't you guys think it's about time they start helping people that REALLY need it? :rotfl: I think it would be much more interesting!

Anna, I love #3, that is so cool!

I know there were more things I wanted to comment on- UGH!

How often do your machines jam up? I seem to have at least one major 'issue' per project- sometimes two. DH wants to know if that's normal, or if it's because I'm using a relatively inexpensive machine. (or cheap thread)

I really don't know because the machine I learned on as a kid was older than dirt. I don't remember it jamming like this though?

Hmmm, do you know if she adopted from my rescue? labs4rescue? I know theres another gal in our group who handles some GA dogs, but they are more northern GA, and I have a couple ladies about an hour or more south of GA and another down on the GA-FL line. But she gets a fair amount of adopters from FL.

I know we just adopted to someone in NH and in ME- so its possible..

Right now I have 3 chocolates, a female and 2 males, all in CT and a black lab who we just got whos still in GA, waiting for a new england foster home to volunteer to take him.

I don't know if they were on labs4rescue but they were from PetFinder. They are being fostered in NH and will be "coming home" Thursday. She went to the foster home and ended up adopting two. ;) They are mixed (lab and beagle they believe). She brought in pictures today...she's a very proud momma. They are super cute!

BTW, since I have been searching pet finder with her...Chelsea at your rescue is one of the cutest babies I've ever seen!!

I'm late but I'm here :) and I'm up to date on this thread (now to go back and catch up on the other).

I love the outfits that have been posted - fantastic :)

So...I get the Bad Mama award this week :( Izzy ended up at A&E on Sunday (the day of her party :headache: ) as she stood on a sewing needle and it went right through her foot (like RIGHT THROUGH her foot ) :( - and it wasn't the sharp end she stood on it was the eye end - I felt horrible. They managed to get it out with some local and tweezers and she still made it home in time for her party (which I think she was more upset about missing than the darn needle skewered through her foot :confused3 ).

I have no idea how the needle got in our lounge as I have my own sewing room . So lesson learnt...time to make some more pin cushions I think.

Another trip update though...... we have decided not to go to Hawaii now as the cost was too prohibitive with the drop in exchange rate etc. But we will extend our stay in Anaheim out a couple more days and do something else.. maybe San Diego Zoo or something like that. Any ideas of what we can do...and some special stuff that we could do for DH's birthday -He'll be turning 30 while we are away (we were going to go to a Luau thing in Hawaii but that's all changed now).

Ok I'll be back after I read the last thread :)

Is A&E the emergency room? It's a TV network here so I was really confused for a minute. Poor thing!

I know if WE were in San Diego I'd love to take DH to legoland, but we're geeks like that.

For anyone who has bought online/downloaded embroidery or applique designs.... Who do you like to buy from? Where do you shop?

I have been looking at SWAK (got link from YCMT) and but I am hoping to find more of this type of thing.

Thanks
